I am a Licensed Professional Counselor working with a variety of clients, specializing in grief therapy as well as trauma related issues. I see counseling as a process in which you, and I, the LPC, having come to trust one another, work as a team to explore and define present problem issues. With that collaboration as a foundation, future goals can be developed for improved life in a systematic fashion toward realizing those stated objectives.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with a variety of clients, many of whom have a trauma backgrounds. I use a lot of guided imagery and EMDR in my sessions. The clinician-client relationship is important and flexibility with treatment is necessary in achieving change.

Therapy involves collaborating together to identify your strengths and to develop effective solutions to the issues, patterns, thoughts and actions you are experiencing in your life. I strive to provide clarification, encouragement, interpretation and information to facilitate you working toward your desired goals. Our emphasis will be on here-and-now choices to re-orient yourself to the present rather than just exploring the past. We all have an underlying drive to reach our maximum potential; I see therapy as a tool for uncovering that drive and finding self-actualization and my role is to encourage you in that exploration.

As your counselor, I want to empower you to explore and manifest the changes needed to meet your goals. I believe our feelings, thoughts, and beliefs all interact and affect our behaviors. It can be hard to identify our true emotions. Our thought processes can be overwhelming or stifling. Sometimes our behaviors do not match our belief system. How do we get to this point? Throughout my years of experience I have worked with mood disorders; primarily anxiety and depression. Working to help clients understand and identify their own strengths and incorporating coping skills to be exemplify them while processing aspects of the past to create an understand to the causes of our behaviors. I have been with Integrated Wellness Clinic for two years. I practiced as a Critical Care and Hospice Registered Nurse for almost 20 years until 2004. I have worked with issues such as chronic illnesses, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, addiction and dual diagnosis. Healing from the suffering caused by addiction, mental health, trauma, eating disorders and other co-occurring conditions is not simply about managing life; it is about transforming it.
