As a first generation American, our owner, Maria, gathered a wide variety of life experience. In Honduras, her native country, she worked as a social worker, providing a myriad services to individuals in need of assistance. Being born and raised in a developing country left her with both sympathy for, and the desire to diligently serve the underprivileged. Everyone who comes to counseling is experiencing some form and level of fear- whether they are fully aware of it or not. The capacity for fear serves to protect us- but limits as well. Many experience anger and not the underlying fears. Fears can lead to counter-productive behaviors that hurt the self or others in forms of passing up opportunities, as self-sabotage, and avoiding or ending relationships.
