I am currently not taking on new clients-Initiating steps to join therapy is brave, courageous, and vulnerable. My practice is aimed to support queer, trans, and gender diverse individuals. Having intersecting identities involves many moving parts. These moving parts may cause you to experience feelings of being scared, exhausted, disrespected, and empowered all due to a society that was built with White/Cis/Het ideologies. I want to learn from you and support you to grow into your authentic self so that you may live your life to its fullest.

I am a big believer that, when we are able to feel more at peace with ourselves, we find greater joy in life. The journey to feeling peaceful and satisfied is not always smooth–it can feel so personal that we may avoid talking about the “bumps” with our loved ones. Talking with (and thinking together with) someone who is objective & private can be so useful. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with over seven years of clinical experience. I have worked with patients who have felt down, worried about every day stressors, dealt with burnout, struggled with a work/life balance, and wanted to find more satisfaction out of life.

I believe that therapy can heal, people can change, and with a safe and supportive environment, things become possible that at one point did not feel possible. We'll work to understand your stories and patterns, explore where you'd like to feel shifts, and create a feeling of abundance of space and time for you to process. I enjoy working with young adults and adults. I have additional expertise with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities.

Note: I am only accepting full-fee pts at this time. I apologize my sliding scale is full! (04/2023). It is my belief that healing happens in relationships, and therapy is no different. We will orient our work toward what matters to you most, and through somatic tools, relationship building, and exploration of different parts of self, you can practice having choice over your patterns of being, relating, and feeling. I acknowledge the role of systems of oppression on mental health and wellness, and have particular training supporting an increased sense of safety, dignity, and belonging for those who have experienced trauma.

Waitlist for new clients
Hi there! I provide therapy for couples and adult individuals. I specialize in relationship, attachment and parenting issues and perinatal mental health. My clients are curious about unhelpful patterns that seem to keep showing up in their life and relationships. Many times they are putting others before themselves, have trouble trusting, feel guilty about setting boundaries or have trouble communicating their needs AND getting them met. Together, we work to understand the “why’s” and then we continue our work to implement new skills and strategies to either break out of those cycles or find ways to work them in your favor.

There are a number of credentials I could share about myself and ways you might decide if I'm the right therapist for you, but honestly, between you and me, what matters is that I love this work. I use theories rooted in an anti-racist, queer liberation, harm reduction, and body-neutral framework. I feel most drawn to this work through an attachment-focused analytical frame. We have all been harmed in relationships, and I believe our healing must also exist in relationships. I know we cannot look at one's personal frame without understanding the systemic and cultural impact that intersectionality has had on one's own experience.

Til death do us part.... that was the original agreement. There is clear separation in body language, mental connection, and physical touch. How did things get this bad? You used to love spending time together. You’d lay in bed for hours, talking until the sun came up. You were sure that your relationship would last forever. Now, you don’t even know if things are worth saving. Neither of you is ready to give up this relationship you’ve put so much work into, but you’re running out of ideas. You’ve been growing apart for so long that you wonder if it’s possible to find your way back to each other.

The desire to know and to be known is a normal human experience. I value the trauma-informed safety and client-centered connection we collaboratively create through a systematic lens. I am particularly sensitive to diversity in culture and self-identity, including with respect to race, gender and sexuality. I believe the importance of affirming the unique individual experience with cultural humility. Through compassion, sensitivity, and empowerment, we will work together respectfully to acknowledge vulnerability, unearth patterns, attend complexity, and gain ownership change to achieve the most authentic and expansive self.

My ideal client would be new to therapy, though motivated to change. I am aware of the challenges that come with seeking therapy and want to be a support to those who are hesitant with the process. Ideally, I would like a client who is self-aware, receptive to feedback, and willing to hold themselves accountable.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in Boston?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
