I work well with neurodivergent individuals who may have felt misunderstood or unsupported in traditional settings.
Something brought you here today. Maybe it's the exhaustion of always being on edge, or a sense that your body hasn't felt safe in a very long time. Whatever it was, I'm glad you followed it. I'm a trauma-informed Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Indiana and Montana. I've spent my career walking alongside people through some of life's most complicated terrain: trauma, identity, nervous system overwhelm, and the quiet grief that comes from feeling like you've never quite fit.

I have specialized experience in working with neurodivergent individuals and couples ( autism, ADHD) and LGBTQIA+ folks.
Do you feel stuck? Perhaps you've been to therapy in the past, but don't know if you've felt comfortable enough to let your walls down. Perhaps you intellectually know all the answers to your problems already, but still can't seem to make the changes you want to make. Maybe you're just feeling skeptical if therapy is the right choice for you. If you have tried therapy many times before, or if you are trying therapy for the first time, I'd love to chat.

Between trying to juggle work, classes, friends, relationships (or situationships), money, and family—it might feel easier just to check out or to stay in bed, especially if you're neurodivergent.
If you've ever thought, "I'm just not good enough," or "there's something wrong with me," I want to work with you. With my warm, informal, straightforward approach, I'll help you recognize how past patterns might be repeating in your present so you can make thoughtful decisions about how you'd like to build your future.

I feel I better understand the complexities of individual identity as someone who has worked to decolonize and learn my role in the world. I aim to offer compassionate guidance on your journey of self-exploration and growth. Many times the systems in place are problematic, not us or our way of thinking. I have 20 years (in 2024) of experience in the child and family services/advocacy field, finding my passion working with youth and families stuck in broken systems. Prior to earning my MSW, I worked with incarcerated youth and families involved in the child welfare system.

Autism is not a medical condition needing "treatment." Rather, it is an opportunity to work intensively on personal growth starting with the child's diagnosis, and then extending to the family, the professionals, schools, communities and finally the governments.

I offer specialized treatment tailored to neurodivergent individuals with ADHD, anxiety, autism, and OCD, and those within the LGBTQ community.
Many of the adults I work with across Indiana, Florida, Chicago, and Northern Virginia appear capable and accomplished on the outside but feel privately overwhelmed. Some were recently diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood; others are questioning whether years of anxiety, burnout, or self-doubt have masked neurodivergence. You may be juggling a demanding career while struggling with executive dysfunction, chronic procrastination, emotional intensity, or the quiet shame of feeling “behind” despite working twice as hard.

As a neurodivergent therapist, I have both clinical resources and lived experience that aids me in helping clients and families learn how to effectively cope with these struggles.
So many times we walk through our world feeling different, alone, and misunderstood. We desire to be seen as our unique, quirky selves without the pressures to perform within the neurotypical norms. Expectations, deadlines, organization can feel like a prison. We seek refuge to live in our distinct values and have healthy relationships with our family and loved ones without judgment. Using evidence-based creative and expressive methods through a blend of art therapy and talk therapy we can explore and identify your unique place in the world.

Autism Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for autism?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has come to be considered the standard treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder, and research has confirmed its effectiveness for many children. Therapists trained in ABA techniques work with children (and their parents) on developing social skills, communication and learning abilities, and everyday habits of hygiene and grooming. The clinician will tailor their program to the child’s particular need but the overarching goal will be to help them advance as far as possible toward independence based on their level of symptoms and decrease the need for additional special services. Families should seek a mental health professional specifically trained in ABA, and holding special certification in the technique, who has extensive experience not only with the approach but in using it with children with the same level of symptoms as the child who needs care.

How does ABA work?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions, which typically focus on positive reinforcement, can be intensive, lasting two or more hours several times a week, and continuing for two years or more. Therapists can also be expected to ask parents to take an active role in reinforcing lessons. Research has found that the technique can lead to major improvements that decrease the need for additional special services.

How does treatment for autism work?
Therapy sessions based on Applied Behavior Analysis will likely be frequent, intensive, and highly structured. After a thorough assessment, a therapist will help a child understand and develop skills in a range of areas, including communication, motor skills, social skills, self-care, play, and academic skills, as well as routines of daily living like hygiene. Typically, the therapist will help a child break down the components of a behavior—often referred to as the antecedent (what prompts an action), the behavior, and the consequence(what immediately follows)—and then reward the child at every step, while also asking parents to reinforce the lessons, and the rewards, throughout the day. This core therapy may be supplemented by occupational or speech therapy, and antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anticonvulsants may be prescribed to address specific severe symptoms.

How long does therapy for autism take?
Some people with autism spectrum disorder may be engaged in some level of therapy for many years, but research shows that treatment will be most effective if it is begun early and delivered intensively. When therapy begins by age 3, children tend to be better able to grasp and adopt the skills needed to manage everyday life, including attending school and establishing social relationships. This type of early-intervention treatment regimen is highly structured, typically involving 20 to 40 hours of one-on-one therapy per week, along with additional hours of engagement managed by parents, for a period of two years or more, although the duration of treatment is dependent on the child’s level of symptoms and pace of progress.
