Creating Safe Haven Counseling LLC, was something I've always wanted to do. One day I decided to go for my dreams and here we are. I've worked as a school-based, outpatient and private practice therapist for the past 10 years. I have experience working with toddler, preschool, middle school and high school aged children, as well as young adults.

I have always had a passion and a deep respect for humanity, for learning about others, for appreciating the differences and personal histories, and for discovering how individuals' values drive their own power to heal themselves. As a therapist, it is my privilege to be a mere facilitator of the discovery process. I look forward to aiding the change process in its many forms and in the time frame that you--the individual—desires and determines. With 15 years of experience in the field, I feel that I bring experience but also a fresh perspective of how to help.

I saw my first therapist when my father died when I was 10 years old. I did not know what was going on. That part was such a blur, because I did not know how to explain how I was feeling. As I started to develop my identity, I noticed people would come to me because I was laid back and chill. As my studies continued, learning about the different populations, I knew I wanted to work with I went with the populations that dealt with trauma, anxiety, depression and the LGTBQ+ community.

Are you feeling anxious? Depressed? Coping with traumatic memories or experiences that have resurfaced during this historic period of collective stress? You’re not alone. Nearly half of all Americans will experience a mental health disorder in their lifetimes, and recent studies have shown an overall increase in symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this high prevalence, fewer than 50% of people who experienced mental health symptoms in the past year received professional treatment. It doesn’t have to be this way. You can start your journey to recovery, and I want to help.
I am not your traditional talk therapist, preferring to use experiential and integrative methods to help you find health and wholeness. I believe we are created to be in healthy connected relationships with ourselves, others, and the Divine. However, things happen that prevent such healthy connections. Specializing in Trauma-Focused Therapy I address trauma and abuse, PTSD, personal, relationship, and spiritual issues, chronic and acute pain. Experiential therapy helps open pathways to healing and connection more easily for some people. I am creatively passionate about personal growth, healing, horses, and am thrilled to share these avenues to healing with others.
