Feelings of stress, hopelessness, defeat, lack of motivation, low self-esteem, thoughts of self-harm, unhappiness, any dark thoughts, with physical feelings of shakiness increased breathing/heartrate, sweating, and tightness in chest can all be signs of a bigger problem. Recovering from any addiction is hard, and having a co-occurring behavior (i.e., bi-polar, personality disorder, etc.) can feel overwhelming. Carrying the weight of shame and guilt while rebuilding life after a violent relationship can feel lonely.

My experience includes working with those impacted by domestic violence, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, PTSD, grief and loss, and co-occurring disorders. My counseling style focuses on empathetically building trust in a nonjudgemental environment, while motivating individuals to achieve goals we have set together.

I am effective at using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Seeking Safety, an evidence-based form of therapy that simultaneously addresses PTSD and substance abuse. I am a Holistic therapist always seeking to focus on the whole person.
