I work with adolescents, adults, and seniors seeking a path out of the "stuckness" of trauma, anxiety, and grief. I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals navigating the intersection of identity and spirituality, particularly those healing from religious trauma or life transitions. Many come to me feeling disconnected from their bodies or weary from the weight of past selves. Using Somatic Experiencing, I help you move beyond talk therapy to resolve how trauma lives in the nervous system. We work together to honor your history while building a lived sense of safety, flow, and bodily wholeness.

Embarking on the journey of therapy can often feel overwhelming for many individuals. It’s not uncommon to experience uncertainty about the process, question its potential benefits, or feel as though you need to be further along in your personal growth before seeking assistance. I recognize these challenges and am committed to creating a compassionate and nurturing environment where clients can safely explore their thoughts and emotions. My objective is to help clients understand that each step, no matter how small, is a vital part of the journey toward healing and personal development.

Life can be difficult. Counseling shouldn’t be. When you’re struggling to cope with symptoms of anxiety, depression, bipolar, ADHD, addiction, relationship stress, or family problems in your life, starting therapy is a courageous step toward change. If you are feeling out of balance or in distress, it can feel defeating to reach out for help and be met with unreturned calls, waitlists, or therapists who are not taking new clients. Not addressing your issues with a professional can often lead to increased symptoms while you wait for your first appointment. We see children, teens, adults, families, and couples.

You are worthy of a peaceful, fulfilling, meaningful life. If you're struggling with emotional pain, insecurities, past trauma, or intrusive thoughts, you're not alone. You may find that the ways you have learned to handle these challenges are not moving your life in the direction you want. People-pleasing, perfectionism, and self-sabotaging are among many ways people cope. If you want to make a change, but don’t know how, therapy can help. You deserve to be seen and understood, and you don’t have to do this alone.

You aren’t “broken”—your nervous system is doing exactly what it was designed to do: protect you. If you’re exhausted from masking in a world not built for you or you’re feeling stuck in survival mode after past trauma, you deserve an affirming space where you feel truly seen and understood. If you are struggling with intrusive thoughts, memories, or difficulty communicating your experience, I am here to help. I especially enjoy working with LGBT+ folks who are formally or self-diagnosed with ADHD, Autism, and CPTSD. While I utilize a holistic approach, folks often seek me out for my experience with EMDR and IFS.

Are you the athlete who looks unstoppable on the surface but battles self-doubt when no one's watching? Maybe you're navigating a major transition—changing teams, retiring from sport, or figuring out who you are beyond your performance. You might be carrying the weight of being "the only one" in spaces where you don't see yourself reflected. You're tired of generic advice and need someone who understands the unique pressures of competition, perfectionism, and proving yourself in environments that weren't built for you. You want a therapist who won't minimize your experience or tell you to "just think positive". I actually get it.

I have over two decades of experience working with individuals seeking to improve their emotional & spiritual health. During this time I have seen first hand how difficult it can be for individuals to admit that they are struggling with their thoughts and emotions and their overall emotional health. It is even more challenging to have the courage to seek out and ask for assistance and help. The good news I want to share is that when I've had the opportunity to work with someone asking for help, that individual is able to improve their mental health and grow to experience their thoughts and emotions with depth and positivity.

You live life as an individual, but also as someone surrounded by all your life experiences and their impacts. These include social supports, family dynamics, partner relationships, cultural and social backgrounds, or impacts of gender and sexuality. You navigate these everyday, yet sometimes we hit a point where we need support or guidance to find the way through to a better version of our self and our life. Seeking therapy isn’t necessarily an easy step to take, and I want to commend you for exploring it as a way to help you create change.

Transgender Therapists
As a gender-diverse individual, why might I want to see a therapist who is also gender diverse?
A trans or gender-diverse client may want to see a therapist who is also trans or gender diverse because the client may feel safer sharing their experiences and more confident that the therapist will understand, validate, and support them. But trans or gender-diverse clients can also benefit from therapy with cisgender therapists; this is a personal decision based on the connection between the client and the therapist, and if that connection is strong, therapy will be successful.

What if I cannot find a therapist who shares my gender identity?
Therapy can still be effective if a therapist does not share a client’s gender identity; a large body of research indicates that the most important factor in successful therapy is the therapeutic alliance. A therapist can also be interviewed for sensitivity and competence on gender identity and expression to ensure they possess appropriate knowledge and skills. Many therapists have excellent training and extensive experience working with gender-diverse clients, and that expertise can be invaluable despite a therapist not sharing the same firsthand experiences.

How can I recognize a good therapist for working with gender-diverse clients?
An experienced therapist should be able to help clients explore their gender identity and expression, alleviate discomfort related to their gender identity, treat mental health challenges and trauma, address existing relationships and communication with family members and loved ones, and determine the next steps pertaining to nonmedical or medical gender-affirming interventions. To recognize a good therapist, clients can ask about these topics and explore their comfort and connection with the clinician.

How might I inquire about a therapist’s experience working with transgender clients?
Clients should feel comfortable asking therapists directly about their experience working with transgender or gender-diverse clientele. For example, clients may ask about the therapist’s training and education with regard to gender identity, how many trans clients they’ve worked with in the past, and what sorts of matters were discussed. You may wish to inquire how a therapist specifically supports the needs of transgender clients or clients questioning their gender identity. A good clinician who is nonetheless not the right fit for you is often happy to make referrals to others based on the concerns you articulate in a preliminary conversation.
