I work with individuals navigating trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, and a range of other mental health concerns and I deeply respect the courage it takes to reach out.

I utilize several, Adlerian, EMDR, Trauma, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family System, Existentialism and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Now Accepting New Clients. Navigating through the journey of life we inevitably run into hindrances that challenge our momentum. Change is hard and can often be sudden and unpredictable, leaving us without the proper tools to cope with these changes. We have to learn to acclimate to our surroundings on our terms. Whether it's a traumatic response, addiction, grief and loss, anxiety, loss of confidence, feeling lost and overwhelmed, feelings of depression or stagnation, there's hope. It takes courage to look into a mirror and see who's looking back, it takes strength to want to make a change and hope to inspire change.

We may use EMDR, IFS, parts work, body awareness, and storytelling in a way that feels safe, empowering and true to you
To the outside world it looks like you have it all together, but on the inside you feel like you are constantly drowning. You have carried so much for so long that even slowing down is overwhelming. If this resonates with you, you are not alone. This may be a sign that something needs to shift, whether or not you know what that is. In therapy, we will explore the patterns that have worked so hard to keep you safe, even when they no longer fit. I believe healing starts when we meet your experiences with compassion and curiosity: unlearning what hurt you, honoring what helped you survive & making room for deep healing to take root.

I use an integrative approach that incorporates cognitive-behavioral therapies, dialectical behavior therapy, and EMDR.
I’ve found that addressing both the obvious and subtle impacts of trauma to often be the key to resolving long-standing problems with depression, anxiety, interpersonal concerns, and emotional dysregulation. Many clients come to me when they’ve had unsatisfying experiences with therapy that have left their deeper issues unaddressed. While this work can be challenging, I find it deeply rewarding to help my clients find meaningful relief from their emotional pain.

I have been trained in EMDR and EMDR Sandtray which can be effective in treating trauma.
We as individuals can lose ourselves in this big world of choices, mixed-up thoughts, and happenstance. You may no longer think, feel, or behave in preferable ways and desire real change. Whether it be the effects of past trauma, relationships, parenting struggle, or health concerns, we may find we aren't managing life at the top of our game. Sometimes, we are barely making it at all. We can explore your needs and break through the challenges so you can move forward living your best life.

I love working with people who are navigating challenging life circumstances, while also balancing past hurts and traumas. I can help you find ways to make this less daunting and take the positive steps forward that you are hoping to take.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
