You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected or caught in patterns that no longer work for you, therapy can be a place to pause, breathe, and reset. I work with individuals navigating trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, and a range of other mental health concerns and I deeply respect the courage it takes to reach out.

Listen, life is a lot sometimes! I think one of the main issues people struggle with today is cultivating resiliency, and therefore my focus in therapy has always been toward empowerment and strengthening clients from a multi-systems approach. I believe positive mental health and a strong self-care routine are a valuable asset to individual growth, and that therapy isn't meant to just be a reactive form of treatment, but one that is a regular part of all our routines.

There could be elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical, Narrative, or any number of modalities that can be tailored specifically for you.
One of the most difficult things we can experience is in not knowing what comes next. Maybe you feel lost, confused, or broken - that some part of you is missing, and the daily struggle to keep it together for yourself or your loved ones feels impossibly overwhelming. Maintaining the obligations of family, work, and friendships can be so exhausting that it seems easier to avoid them altogether. Maybe you’ve considered therapy before, but thought it was too expensive, time consuming, or worry you might be seen as "weak." But how would it feel to find yourself again? To stop, catch your breath, and learn to find peace among the chaos?

I help with anxiety, depression, and substance use with practical approaches: harm reduction perspectives, CBT/ DBT techniques, and mindfulness-based stress reduction.
Looking through endless therapist profiles can be exhausting when you're already struggling. Let me make this simple: I don't sugarcoat things. I'm here to actively work with you, not just listen and nod like a sounding board. Working together, we can actually change what's not working by developing practical skills that are effective and easy to use. I've witnessed countless journeys of growth and healing and I believe wholeheartedly in your capacity for change. I work well with all kinds of people, and I especially click with gamers, students, and musicians (shared interests tend to lead to a better therapeutic connection).

My focus is working with clients who may have challenges that others may not understand. My belief is that everyone wants to be a good person at their core, and sometimes people go about trying to obtain a normal, healthy goal in a wrong way. I believe everyone has strengths, and building strengths to overcome our difficulties is key in moving forward. I have experience working with victims of trauma, justice-involved individuals, those that suffer from significant mental health such as BPD, schizophrenia, sex abuse, depression and anxiety, and others that just struggle being understood by society.

Many people who reach out are in the midst of change—parenthood, relationship shifts, career transitions, grief, or identity changes—and feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. They may appear capable on the outside while quietly struggling with self-doubt, burnout, or intrusive thoughts. They’re looking for relief and practical tools, but also deeper insight into their patterns and strengths. Most of all, they want a supportive space where their whole self is welcomed, understood, and respected.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
