I transitioned a couple of years ago from Texas to Indiana and have empathy for anyone going through a transitional process. I am still seeing Texas clients virtually; still taking TX BCBS.
I am currently taking face to face clients at my Bloomfield, Indiana, location. I am also certified to see Indiana clients virtually. I grew up northeast of Bloomfield. It has taken several years to get back, but I am excited to be offering services in my hometown.
I believe that coming along beside a person, and walking with them in their journey, is a step of trust. Exploring the situation together can make the journey easier.

We all have mental health and the very best gift we can give ourselves is to nurture all parts of our whole selves including the physical, emotional and spiritual within each of us. Research has discovered that it takes approximately 400 repetitions to create a new synapse in the brain unless it is done in play, in which case it takes 10-20 repetitions. Lessons can become easier when we play, laugh and have fun learning something new. Recovery experiences can reveal that we have just as much to unlearn as we may to learn. You deserve to be heard, validated and supported in a safe and trusted space as you recover your inner guidance.

I believe that everyone is doing their best at any given time and are motivated to be the best version of themselves possible, although that does not mean that we always know how to get there. Having a therapeutic relationship with a trusted therapist can provide a safe place to process difficult emotions, help identify patterns of thinking and behavior that no longer serve us, or outline goals for the future and develop a plan of action.

If you're considering therapy, there's probably a part of you that has been carrying a lot for a long time. Welcome.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and deeply tired of carrying things alone. They may function well on the outside while feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally sensitive, or disconnected on the inside. Often, there’s a sense of “I should be handling this better,” even when that expectation is part of the problem.

My primary areas of focus are anxiety, depression, anger management, marital and relationship problems, and parenting concerns.
We're not always prepared for the challenges that come our way. Sometimes we encounter a problem we can't figure out on our own. It helps to have someone else to lean on to get us through a difficult period. My primary job as a counselor is to give encouragement, impart a sense of hope, and help restore balance in the lives of my clients. For some clients it's a rare experience to be truly heard, understood, and empathized with. I'll provide a warm, non-judgmental environment that allows you to tell your story.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
