I work with doctors, lawyers, first-responders, LGBTQ+ folks, people dealing with mood disorders, trauma survivors, and folks in the trades. I believe that while the challenges of life are universal, the path to healing is deeply personal. My approach is rooted in the conviction that addiction and mental health struggles are not inevitable destinations, but human susceptibilities that can be navigated through self-awareness, empathy, and holistic support. I am here to walk beside you as a partner in your journey, offering a secure base as you navigate the complexities of change. I understand that our emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual health are inextricably intertwined. By looking at the "whole picture," we can identify the patterns that keep you stuck.

Hello, I'm Adrianne. Do you feel like your emotions are running you? Have you noticed feelings of being 'stuck' or going through the motions? Have you noticed instances of past trauma still affecting you? If so, please feel free to match with me. I have been practicing as a therapist for about 10 years now, and I love using evidence-based interventions to assist others in healing and learning effective ways to cope with distress rather than just talking about it. My approach is rooted in understanding and empathy, and I believe in working collaboratively with my clients to help them achieve their goals.

I use a blend of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), somatic and mindfulness techniques, and sound-based therapies to support deep emotional healing.
You're carrying the weight of emotional pain—maybe from a difficult breakup, a toxic relationship, or years of feeling unseen and unheard. You might be struggling with codependency, grief, or big life changes that have left you feeling lost. Deep down, you want to feel grounded, safe in your own skin, and confident setting boundaries that protect your peace.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and transparent. I use the skills and experiences I've gained to help clients achieve their own goals. Instead of curing mental health I believe in helping people understand and manage their issues in sustainable ways. Since I use a lot of metaphors in therapy, the one I use to illustrate and describe my therapeutic process is likening it to a home improvement. My job is to help clients explore and find the right tools for their unique improvements and provide guidance so clients have support while making lasting changes they want in their life. The toolbox can then be used outside of therapy.

Parents: You want the best for your child, but you don't know what to do to help him or her. Your child did not come with an owner's manual. You don't need blame, you need help! I understand that a child's behaviors serve a purpose, and we work together to eliminate the need for the behaviors or to fulfill the need in healthier ways. And if the problem isn't that serious? Well, coaching may be better for your child than therapy--we work on strategies to improve behavior or schoolwork or whatever your concern is.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
