I believe that most people already hold insight into what they need to feel better. What’s often missing isn’t the answer, but the confidence to trust it. My role is to help you recognize your strengths, examine what may be getting in the way, and build the clarity and skills needed to move forward with intention.

Having experienced infertility, pregnancy loss, religious trauma, purity culture, and grief myself, I also particularly welcome clients who are struggling with these issues.
Have you spent your life overachieving, working hard, taking care of others, doing all the right things, and yet things aren't working out how you expected them to? Are your relationships often one-sided, where you give a lot but no one takes care of you? I see you. My practice focuses on those who have "done all the right things," and are wondering why things are still so hard.

I specialize in trauma recovery and a modern understanding of grief, one that recognizes that loss isn’t just about death, but about any life-altering change that leaves a void.
I always like to let clients know that the first session can be a bit uncomfortable and isn't at all what following sessions will look like. To understand the client and why they are coming to therapy I have to complete an intake, which is a summary of the client's life and experiences.

I specialize in work with the elderly; individuals who have a combination of behavioral and physical health issues; and with grief issues.
During the first session I like to learn about the client's history, their current concerns, and their perception of their strengths. What are they hoping to gain from therapy? Is there something small that can be helpful to them during the first session?

I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma, including experiences that can still affect how your body responds to stress today.
It has been my life’s joy and work to walk alongside people of all ages who for whatever reason have found themselves in the trenches. In my career as a counselor I have seen children heal from trauma, teenagers gain confidence through challenges, people who feel hopeless find new meaning and purpose in their lives and everything else in between. No matter what you may be facing, it is my belief and experience that each of us have more capacity for hope, healing and lasting change than we may yet realize.

My specialty is guiding clients through anxiety, grief, and self-criticism using practical, evidence-based tools—think CBT, ACT, and mindfulness—but with a down-to-earth, no-fluff approach.
Hi! I’m Leah, and I am taking new clients! I work with adults, teens, and children. My first goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, but empowered too. My approach is collaborative, but I will show up authentically in the therapy space. My ideal client might be someone who’s tired of pretending they’re “fine,” ready to get real about their stressors, and brave enough to laugh a little while figuring it all out. But I promise to also create a space if you aren't sure what you need and know you just need to have a safe space to talk.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
