I work primarily with CBT, DBT, and IFS but these are just acronyms, so what does this actually mean?
If you are looking for an affirming and creative space to express your needs, then look no further! I have worked with a variety of people from across the spectrum of mental health and plenty of "everyday" struggles, notably working with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I know how tough it is to seek help, so I appreciate you taking the time to include me in your journey! I have a D&D Group therapy for high schoolers currently and am starting one for middle schoolers and adults in June! Please contact for more details!

My top priority is to provide a safe and nurturing counseling environment where my clients feel supported as they learn and grow. I blend several different counseling techniques together in a manner that fits each client's specific needs. Through careful listening and understanding, I guide my clients in examining their current and past attitudes, feelings, beliefs, thoughts, and choices and collaborate with each client to determine how these are affecting their day-to-day lives. Together, we create a plan to work through these issues, and I challenge and support my clients as they make positive choices and changes.

Counseling can be intimidating, but I want to foster a safe, compassionate, and empathetic place where you can talk about the things you don’t know how to talk about. As a therapist, I seek to create a space for your true self to shine through as we work together to confront the challenges, insecurities, and past traumas you carry, and to ultimately find healing. At this stage as you consider therapy and seek to find the right fit, I want to encourage you by simply saying that you are enough. You do not have to be more than who you are. And who you are is worthy of love, of care, and of mental and emotional health.

I enjoy using and often will implement IFS, ACT, Person Centered and CBT while I am working with clients.
My style is warm and genuine. I view therapy as a space for laughter, fun, creativity as much as a place for tears and sorrow. My goal is to help you gain insight and practical tools to improve your quality of life. My greatest satisfaction comes from watching a couple grow closer together as a result of therapy. I hold a specialized certification that provides me with a range of strategies for couple’s treatment. I also provide individual therapy as it is also a valuable piece in couples therapy, as personal growth can greatly improve the quality of a relationship.

I have been trained and have been successfully utilizing EMDR, Trauma Focused-CBT, & Internal Family Systems Informed Approach to help my clients.
Do you find yourself caught in cycles of anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional shutdown- as if the past is still playing out in the present? Does it feel difficult to be fully present in your own life right now? Are stressful situations becoming harder to manage, leaving you feeling exhausted, disconnected or stuck? Maybe you are ready to stop overthinking, to feel safe in your relationships, to be less reactive and more engaged— but unsure how to begin. If any of this resonates, you’re not alone. Trauma can shape how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world. But healing is possible — and it doesn't have to be done alone.

My therapeutic work is experiential and primarily utilizes Internal Family Systems ( IFS) or “parts work
I nurture a deep understanding and appreciation for the complexity, diversity and resiliency of the human spirit and believe, unequivocally, in the healing power of connection and hope. My focus is on meeting each client where they are by creating a safe space to facilitate meaningful interactions. Through my own identity development journey as a mixed-race woman, I have learned how to value my own story and how that impacts my therapeutic lens. It is my belief that knowing ourselves allows us to know how to more deeply and intimately hold space for others.

You may be used to holding it all together on the outside - while internally feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure of who you are or what you need. Maybe you're the "strong one" for others, yet feel disconnected from yourself. If you’re feeling stuck in patterns, navigating identity, or struggling in relationships, you don’t have to do it alone. I work with adults and teens navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and identity exploration, including those within the LGBTQ+ community. My approach is collaborative, affirming, and grounded in creating a space where you can feel understood, supported, and more connected to self.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
