Depending on the needs of the client, I utilize differing therapeutic techniques including narrative, motivational interviewing, EMDR , person-centered as well as cognitive-behavioral therapy.
It’s so easy in this day and age to lose sight of one’s self and wake up one day and not recognize the person in the mirror. It’s my passion to come alongside those individuals or couples that have lost their way in life and need a listening ear or a fresh perspective. I firmly believe that every dry and painful season of life can be a springboard into hope for the next. It does not matter who you are, what’s been done or what you have done, there is hope.

ATTENTION ALL STRUGGLING IN RELATIONSHIPS AND/OR WITH PROBLEM DRINKING: You are ready to face your demons. You’ve had experiences in life that still haunt you, like a bad childhood, a horrible break up, or the death of a loved one. You’ve been able to maintain a sense of normalcy, but underneath the surface you are in emotional pain & you can’t quite put your finger on it. You may have turned to alcohol or drugs numb the pain or feel alive. You know you’re a good person and have every reason to be happy, and yet you can’t seem to FEEL completely happy and well. There’s a disconnect between your mind and your heart/soul.

I am passionate about helping expat adults and third culture kids (TCK's) as they live in new cultures and navigate all that entails. I also enjoy working with international clients, specifically Arab clients, and have a good understanding of the culture and traditions. I am EMDR Trained (Level 2), trauma informed, adoption informed/attachment focused, and use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT & REBT), mindfulness, self-compassion, person-centered, and psychodynamic approaches.

I am an EMDR - and Brainspotting-trained, licensed mental health counselor associate (LMHCA), national certified counselor (NCC), and trained school counselor, and I hold professional membership with the American Counseling Association (ACA).
I am motivated by a genuine curiosity to understand each person's unique perspective, and I believed that successful therapy begins with providing individuals a space to be authentic and vulnerable. I view counseling as a conversation about your story, a process to empower you to make meaning of your experiences, challenges and ambitions. I believe that all clients have the capacity for self-discovery and problem solving. Therefore, I work collaboratively with pre-teens, adolescents and adults to improve emotional control, develop self-acceptance, and cultivate fulfilling relationships.

EMDR Therapists
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an information processing therapy that helps clients cope with trauma, addictions, and phobias. During this treatment, the patient focuses on a specific thought, image, emotion, or sensation while simultaneously watching the therapist's finger or baton move in front of his or her eyes. The client is told to recognize what comes up for him/her when thinking of an image; then the client is told to let it go while doing bilateral stimulation.
