After many years of working with adults on life stage transitions, I am here to work with you as you work through your transitions. Transitions like - divorce, adult dating, job or career changes, working with aging parents, your own life stages, empty nesting, loss of a loved one or pet. There are so many things that come up in life that adults need to work through - at times this can cause anxiety, depression or just confusion which can impact your outlook and how you are interacting with others. I look forward to working with you to identify your story and to help you decide how you want to write the next chapter.

I offer in-person and telehealth sessions for people living in the state of Indiana.
Every person experiences some form of trauma or neglect throughout their lives. For many, these experiences can evolve into challenges such as anxiety, depression, or other emotional difficulties or behavioral concerns. If this statement resonates with you and you’re feeling ready to lessen the impact of these struggles and move toward healing, I would be honored to support you. I am fully EMDR and DBT trained, so I mostly work with trauma-based disorders. The bulk of my clients are 12-25 years old, but I have experience with working with people across the board and welcome anyone motivated to pursue growth and positive change.

My work with clients hinges on creating powerful, collaborative, and respectful relationships that form the basis for your growth and development. I am skilled at helping clients see how they succeed as well as how they interrupt their own potential for success. While my focus is positive and optimistic, I’m committed to helping people remove the obstacles that have stopped them from achieving the success they seek in both their personal and professional lives.

Hello, I'm Laura. I have had the privilege of working with youth, adults, and families facing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, relationship issues, parenting problems, trauma, and much more. My experience also extends to working with youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Before becoming a therapist, I spent time teaching middle school and high school, serving as an elementary school counselor, and coaching volleyball and softball. These roles have given me a unique perspective and deep understanding of the challenges different age groups face.

I provide therapy in office, via walk talk, or by telehealth depending on clients’ needs and wants.
Many of my clients come to me looking to improve their overall wellbeing - decrease anxiety, improve relationships, assist in adjusting to a new life season, OCD, perinatal concerns, working through challenges that have been presented in their life at some point - trauma, family of origin issues, or other unaddressed concerns. I see a little bit of everyone, but tend to work with a lot of college students, parents, educators, those experiencing infertility, and emerging adults through middle adulthood. Many of my clients are looking for longer term work which I really enjoy! I also offer supervision services to fellow therapists.

The ideal client(s): Couples who want to understand and improve their marital relationship blue print. Two people building understanding. The story that unfolds from your guided journey you take step by step together. The goal is about your healing journey. Recognizing unhealthy patterns, isn't about condemnation-it's about understanding how you've been protecting yourself in unhealthy ways. Once you see it, you can start choosing differently. The therapeutic approach is based on eclectic structural/strategic integrated techniques of different evidenced based models.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
