Often clients tell me they appreciate knowing that I, too, am as human as the person in the room with me. Life can be difficult and mental health issues can add significant barriers to finding healing, growth, and joy. My hope for each client is not only that they experience symptom reduction, but also that they experience long term healing and create a meaningful life. I have a passion for working with those overwhelmed with transitions being it adjusting to the work place, divorce/break up, major life move, job loss, recent deaths, etc. I enjoy supporting people through these difficult, yet transformative periods.

You are becoming someone who no longer needs to earn their place in the room. On paper everything looks fine. You are high-achieving and desire to learn how to build a life that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside. You're done running on empty and ready to actually feel like yourself again.
I work with high-achieving adults in who are ready to understand why they think and respond the way they do, release the patterns that have kept them performing instead of living, and build something more sustainable, grounded in who they actually are.

As a therapist, my ideal client would be someone that is willing; willing to attend sessions regularly, willing to try new things, willing to engage and willing to explore their concerns. With that being said, I believe I am tasked with creating an environment that is safe for my clients to be able to show up and feel they can become vulnerable with me. Otherwise, I encourage my clients to come as they are with whatever concerns they have and we will work together to improve on their goals.

You’re trying so hard to keep it together, but it still feels like you’re one unexpected moment away from being totally overwhelmed. The kind that doesn’t pass quickly—it lingers, drains you, and makes it hard to feel like yourself again. Or maybe you’re a parent, trapped in constant mental gymnastics: “Is this normal?” “How do I help without making it worse?” You’re carrying all of it while making dinner, answering emails, and acting like you’re fine. It’s a lot and you’ve been doing your best. I see you, and you don’t have to do this alone anymore. Together we can trade “white-knuckling” it for real change that actually lasts.

I specialize in the stuff most people prefer to sweep under the rug; complex trauma, addiction, and unique mental health challenges. You know, the things that, if left unchecked, turn you into a flaming dumpster fire of a person. I also specialize in unique populations like polyamory and neurodivergent. Together, we’ll work through the darkness and find a way to make life suck a little less. Or, who knows, maybe even a lot less. Life’s chaotic, but we can still make progress while acknowledging that, sometimes, it’s a bit of a dumpster fire.

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Therapists
How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.
What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.
How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.
How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
