When life doesn't go as planned, we can react with grief, sadness, guilt, anger and worries. Major events such as diagnosis of chronic disease, divorce, trauma, death of a loved one, can contribute to loss of energy and diminished hope for positive change. Even without such dramatic occurrences, depression and anxiety often co-exist. Therapy is a form of self-care, and can provide active listening and non-judgmental regard. Insight into core values can bring clarity, energy and movement toward goals. Mood can improve, decisions can be made with greater confidence, and hope can be restored.
