I work with children, adults, and families facing anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, school-related issues, trauma, and more. I believe life is both messy and beautiful— even in the hardest moments, there’s potential to discover your strength and grow in ways you didn’t think possible. I offer a supportive, no-pressure space where you can speak openly and feel heard without judgment. I especially enjoy working with parents, children and young adults to help build stronger, healthier family relationships.

I work with adults and adolescents age 10 and over with a variety of needs.
My clients appreciate the client-centered and strengths-based approach that emphasizes collaboration and a whole-person approach. You and your family are seen as experts on your experiences. I most typically use motivational interviewing, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and for adolescents, TF-CBT (Trauma Focused-CBT).

It takes a lot of strength and bravery to reach out for help. You might want to be heard and understood, and gain understanding of your experience. You might want relief, direction, tools, and to really thrive. If you or your child are struggling with healing from trauma, are feeling down and depressed, or having difficulty managing anxiety, I'd love to help. If you are experiencing a life adjustment, parenting challenges, or are needing support related to perinatal mental health, I'd love to come alongside you. The courage clients have in opening up and sharing their vulnerabilities with me is something I admire and value.

I work with children, teens, adults, and seniors in individual and relational therapy (couple/relationship/family).
Deciding to work on our mental wellbeing and relationships can shift our lives in a new and more satisfying direction. This is a really important step and I am honored to share the sacred space of therapy with the clients I work with. I offer in-person sessions at my Lebanon, IN office at The Cabin Counseling & Resource Center as well as telehealth sessions from my home office for Indiana residents. Are you ready to get started?

Do you love the company of your child but at times their reactions to things seem downright baffling? If so, I’m here for you. Hi. I’m Natasha Anderson. I’m a clinical Psychologist and owner of Silver Lining Psychology. I am passionate about working with children that present with anxiety and phobias, helping children that have big feelings manage their emotional reactivity and acting as a support for the parents, mood disorders such as depression, ADHD, and body-focused repetitive behaviors, such as picking at one's skin or pulling hair out.

Counseling is always challenging work, and my path has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to help people who are struggling with particularly dark spaces. From addictions, to pornography, to domestic violence, to anger issues, to couples at the breaking point, I am ready and prepared to aid in healing, regardless of the degree of pain or dysfunction. If you’ve never talked with a counselor, you might be anxious. I understand that counseling is never easy. But then, neither is life. And there’s no reason to be ashamed or embarrassed about asking for help. In fact, knowing you need help is a sign of courage and character.

I have over 15 years of experience working with teens and young adults.
There are many reasons someone may seek therapy, and for athletes, the mental side of performance can feel just as challenging as the physical demands. You may struggle with anxiety, stress, mood regulation, trauma, burnout, life transitions, or feeling overwhelmed by school, relationships, or competition. You may also feel stuck due to a mental block, loss of confidence, or performance anxiety. These experiences can leave you feeling isolated or discouraged. I provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to help athletes and individuals build resilience, confidence, and hope.

Trauma doesn’t just live in the past, it lives in our dreams, our bodies, and the gaps in our memories. If you are experiencing ‘forgotten’ memories, bad dreams, or the aftermath of sexual abuse, you don’t have to carry that weight alone. I specialize in trauma recovery and a modern understanding of grief, one that recognizes that loss isn’t just about death, but about any life-altering change that leaves a void.

I am so glad that our paths have crossed. Seeking help takes courage and we all need it from time to time. I view counseling as a relatively short term investment that yields a lifetime of value. In my personal and professional experience I have found that it usually takes a third party to help identify and challenge problematic patterns that keep us hurting and stuck. In this way, counseling helps you to develop new ways of thinking about and responding to life's inevitable challenges. Please feel free to browse www.threestonescounseling.com to find out more.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
