Adolescents and young adults can struggle with anxiety and stress due to a range of factors such as life transitions, difficulty in relationships, school and sports performance , and more.
To counsel from a holistic approach means to empower a person to create change in their hearts, minds, bodies, and even the world around them. We sometimes face things in life that don't allow us to see this change and prevent us from taking action in our lives. When this happens, we might just need a little bit of support and guidance that counseling can offer, to bring us back on the path of living our best life possible.

I use a 3 tiered approach to training: Perspective Training, Mental Skills Training, and Applied Settings (if applicable at a sporting location). I am the only professional to offer that kind of travel service. We also offer Coaching Certification Programs for those who are interested in teaching.

Life can often feel like a roller coaster. The pressure to perform in various areas of life can feel heavy and difficult. We all have personal and relational things impacting our lives no matter what stage of life we are in. I understand that it's difficult to ask for help and yet I know from personal experience the first step toward healing can be reaching out to someone who is able and willing to listen and walk the journey with you for a time.

Chasing after your dreams can be tiring. There are moments where you want to give up and your inner voice starts to tell you that you can't do it. These moments are bound to happen. Sometimes help is needed. Seeking guidance will help you untangle thoughts, clarify goals, and explore insecurities. A pit stop is sometimes necessary to refuel your motivation and get you back on the road to chasing your dreams. It is an honor for me to be part of this process and I am grateful to provide sport and performance psychology services to Indiana and Florida residents.

My name is Glenn Kelich and I am a former professional ballet dancer. Following a diagnosis of severe anxiety and several bouts of that anxiety manifesting itself on stage, I decided to dedicate myself to learning more about how the mind influences performance and everyday life. I now work with athletes and non-athletes who seek the same understanding in the areas of foundational, psychosomatic, cognitive, and processing skills. This includes working with teens and adults that present with anxiety, stress, OCD, depression, ADHD, trauma, and other behavioral disorders.

I treasure a core belief that human beings are inherently wise, compassionate, and whole. Then life happens and people begin to lose access to their inner resourcefulness. My work is rooted in connection, authenticity, and empathy. I believe change and healing occur both experientially and relationally. By utilizing compassion, honesty, and humor, I collaborate with clients to create a supportive and non-judgmental container for self-exploration and growth.

We all feel a little lost at times. This can have a negative impact on our relationships & individual lives. The ability to reflect & be comfortable in sharing the most intimate details about your life is not an easy task. My goal is to create a safe space for clients to share their stories & work on how to manage them moving forward by using a conversational partnership. What if you were given the opportunity to make positive changes in your life or relationship before it became a crisis? Having tools to draw upon during challenging times can make a difference in how we navigate the anxiety & stress in our lives.

Sports Performance Therapists

How does sports psychology work?

Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualisation, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.

How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?

The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.

How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?

Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.

What are the limitations of sports psychology?

Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
