I believe everyone deserves a safe, non-judgmental environment to explore their feelings and experiences. My mission is to create a space where those who have felt overlooked can feel truly seen, heard, and understood. Together, we can navigate life’s challenges—whether that includes stress, anxiety, body image concerns, or feeling stuck. I’m here to listen, support, and help you rediscover your strengths. My ideal client is someone who is seeking either an accountability partner or a therapist who brings curiosity, helps connect the dots, and invites deeper reflection.

I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders and mood disorders, and endorse Health at Every Size.
When faced with challenges and struggling with how to manage them, therapy can be helpful to sort through the complexities that are in each of our lives. Whether struggling with mood management, behaviors you don't want to engage in anymore, or just feeling too alone and overwhelmed with modern demands, therapy can be a place to learn to separate patterns that are helpful from those that aren’t and to be able to have support to face challenges that enable us to grow into the people and values that matter the most to us.

Over time, my work has expanded to include trauma, eating disorders, body image concerns, and self-harm.
I create a safe space to explore your emotions, understand where they come from, and how they impact your behaviors. With a strong background in oncology mental health, I recognize the deep connection between mind and body. I believe healing both is essential for growth and lasting change.

Eating disorders (ED), anxiety, panic, and/or stress can take hold of you so it feels like you can no longer live the life you want.
The good news is that there are scientifically supported treatments for ED, anxiety, panic & stress! This means there are real options that have been shown to reduce symptoms and improve quality of life. I trained at some of the top universities to be able to deliver the most effective therapies (e.g., CBT, mindfulness, EMDR) possible for your concerns.

I also enjoy working with adolescents and young adults who are experiencing eating disorders and disordered eating, relationships issues and breakups, and interpersonal conflicts with parents.
Working together, there are tears and scrunched up tissue at times, but there is probably more laughter in my room than you would think. I seek to provide a safe space for everyone to share any thoughts and feelings, but when appropriate or ready, I also aim to build a learning space.

As a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Intuitive Eating Counselor, I encourage clients to process the underlying causes of disordered eating behaviors and body image concerns.
Food and body image feel like almost universal struggles. Diet and wellness culture provide constant messages about how we should look, eat, and feel, insinuating failure if we are not "optimizing" our health and well-being at every moment. How we feel in and about our bodies can also be impacted by trauma, health issues, pain, disability, hormonal shifts (pregnancy, menopause, and everything in between), or simply the mundane process of aging. We can also be affected by living within systems of oppression such as misogyny, racism, ageism, and weight stigma, all of which can contribute to how we view ourselves and our bodies.

I enjoy working with teens and young adults struggling with disordered eating behaviors, emotional dysregulation/early symptoms of BPD, and suicidal ideation.
I often use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in my practice. I like to identify how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with each other & your environment. I also examine how societal, cultural, and political causes and solutions to the struggles you face play a role. I'll utilize other modalities and techniques as needed for your treatment.

Eating Disorders Therapists
What happens in therapy for eating disorders?
In therapy for eating disorders, patients typically describe their eating and exercise behaviors, their patterns of eating in relation to stress, their beliefs about their body, the ways their eating behavior affects their relationships, and their desire (or lack of it) to change. Such information helps the therapist understand the origins of the disorder and the role it plays in the patient’s life, important for guiding treatment. Attitudes and feelings about food and eating, body weight, and physical appearance are common topics of discussion throughout treatment.

What therapy types help with eating disorders?
Once any acute medical or psychiatric emergency is resolved, psychoactive medication is often prescribed, requiring the supervision of a psychiatrist. In addition, patients receive some form of nutritional counseling along with one or more forms of psychotherapy. For adolescents, family-based treatment is empirically validated and considered the first line of treatment; parents and their children meet weekly with a clinician as the adults are coached on how to nourish and psychologically support the young patient. Adults typically receive some form of individual psychotherapy, intended to resolve the cognitive and behavioral disturbances that underlie the disorder and to relieve the mood disturbances that accompany it. In addition, patients may also be helped by group therapy.

What is the goal of therapy for eating disorders?
The most immediate goal of treatment for eating disorders is to save the life of people who are on a path of starving themselves to death or engaging in eating patterns that are doing irreparable physical harm to their body. Once the acute medical danger is past, therapy is required to understand the nature of the disordered eating and/or exercise patterns, establish healthy eating behavior, and to tackle the many erroneous beliefs and distorted self-perceptions that underlie eating disorders and continue to pose a threat to health and life. Therapy also addresses the impaired mood that not only accompanies eating disorders but intensifies the danger to health and life.

What are the limitations of therapy for eating disorders?
Therapy can be very helpful for eating disorders—but that can happen only after people recognize they have a condition that must be treated. Especially with anorexia, the distortions in self-image that accompany the disorder can keep people from acknowledging they have a problem. Individuals may in fact see their eating disorder as a badge of self-control. Those with binge-eating disorder may feel too ashamed to seek help. Therapy cannot help those who do not avail themselves of it.

How long does therapy last for eating disorders?
Because of their complexity, recovery from eating disorders is usually a long-term process—measured in months and years— often marked by setbacks and relapse. Some form of help, such as individual or group therapy, may be advisable for much of that time. It is a general rule of thumb that the longer the illness has endured and the dysregulated eating behavior has taken root, the longer treatment is likely to be needed.
