Are you looking for help with child/parenting concerns, relationship issues, and/or unhealthy patterns, including addictions? You don’t have to face these things alone! My experience and skills are helping children, families, adults and couples to work toward building healthy connections and relationships. My background includes training and practice in child-centered play therapy, early childhood mental health development at Riley Hospital, as well as marriage and family therapy. In addition to my private practice, I have worked extensively with incarcerated youth and women.

I work with children, teens and young adults struggling with a variety of issues. I have extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, substance use, self-esteem, family discord, academic issues, suicidal ideation, and more. Each person comes to counseling for their own unique reason and need. I aim to meet people where they're at and work through their problems every step of the way so that they become a better version of themselves.

I have a passion to journey with couples who seek to restore love and trust in their life and in their relationship(s). When we experience violations to our sense of identity and safety we experience real pain and confusion. It is possible for all of us to find peace and be grounded in the truth of who we are, and discover new ways to act within our daily life and decision making. I especially have an interest in journeying with couples struggling with communication (i.e. decision making), passion and attachment, intimacy, life transitions, and conflict (i.e. anger, shame, control, infidelity, addiction , trauma).

We are each on a journey of becoming. Invaluable steps on this journey are seeking to better understand ourselves and learning to create positive change in our lives. I support individuals on their journeys by helping them to develop insight, better understand their needs, make meaning of chaos and challenges, and offer themselves grace and forgiveness.

Sometimes life just gets to a point that we need an objective party to weigh-in, provide feedback, and to help identify patterns of coping that are no longer working for us. I have been working in the mental health field for over 10 years, and in that time I have solidified my passion for helping others identify and work on problem areas in their lives. I have clinical experience working with depression, anxiety, stress, coping skills, grief, loss, trauma, addictions and women’s issues.  I work with adults and children ages 12 and up. I use traditional talk therapy as well as art therapy in the private practice setting and offer complimentary 30 minute "meet the therapist" sessions to ensure you feel the best fit possible.

I serve clients who struggle with long term emotional distress or who have crisis issues in their lives. Clients motivated to understand the conscious and unconscious forces and meanings that shape their experience and their relationships are specially suited to the work I do. I work from the perspective of intersubjective psychoanalytic theory and object relations theory. I am an Accredited Practitioner in Mentalization Based Psychotherapy with Personality Disorders through the British Psychoanalytic Council.

In 1987, I helped develop CenterPoint Counseling. I currently serve as their Executive Director and we have a staff of ten therapists. I am trained as a Marriage and Family Therapist and licensed as both a Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Social Worker. I also have a Doctorate in Pastoral Care and Counseling and am ordained as a Presbyterian Minister (P.C.U.S.A.) I am on the National Registry of Marriage Friendly Therapist. I work with individuals dealing with anxiety and depression issues. I see couples, partners and spouses and am certified as an Imago Relationship Therapist.

I am a licensed Counseling Psychologist specializing in the treatment and prevention of eating disorders, addictions and co-morbid conditions with over 17 years experience. I bring a compassionate and warm energy to my clients. I offer individual, couples and family therapy for people ages 13 and above. I work with clients to improve self-worth, identify barriers to progress, reduce shame and develop powerful strategies to begin and maintain their objectives. My counseling approach is to listen nonjudgementally, providing guidance and feedback by helping clients create effective and personalized solutions to their treatment needs.
