All humans experience pain and stress in life along with the propensity to become entangled in distressing thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations when challenges arise. This often leads to perceptions, interactions, behaviors, and decisions that add further distress to both the mind and body. I attempt to facilitate increased mindfulness through improved insight, awareness, compassion, non-judgment and decreased entanglement in the distressing internal dialogue. I incorporate various theoretical perspectives including mindfulness, person-centered, cognitive and cognitive behavioral as I attempt to guide individuals toward increased inner peace.

I have a passion for helping with building skills that encourage a balanced healthy lifestyle in both children and adults. These skills may help with managing emotions, dealing with anxiety/depression, coping with traumatic experiences, learning social skills, or processing through grief/loss. Learning to be successful in managing emotions and navigating peer/family relationships is a positive tool that can lead to a healthy and happier life. I strive to provide supportive tools to help with gaining emotional health/regulation skills that can be confidently applied to many situations.

Lisa Duhamell MA LMHC completed mental health counseling and marriage/family therapy training at Indiana Wesleyan University with a Master of Arts in Counseling. She has developed a passion in offering faith based counseling with children and their families to provide hope, healing, connection and support. Lisa specializes with children and adolescents. She brings over 15 years of professional counseling experience to working with children and teens. Lisa has deepened her love and knowledge to provide counseling for parents through some of their childhood wounds and anxiety.

I have been working with Adults, Adolescents, Couples and Families for 20 years. I work with my clients to address any issues associated with depression, anxiety, bi-polar, personality disorders, trauma and addiction. I enjoy helping my patients identify the core issues that they want to address and develop skills and tools to help them successfully navigate through them for the rest of their life.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice. I have a Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. My training as a Marriage and Family Therapist provides me with the skill set to work with clients from a systemic perspective; exploring the multiple angles of a problem while at the same time discovering untapped strengths and resources for creating change. I have experience working with a variety of clients including children, adolescents, families and couples; all within many different stages of life. Areas of special interest include teens, young adults, and the military population.

The clients that I see are struggling with how to get and give the love they want and need. Most clients that I work with have a deep desire to feel heard and understood in their intimate relationships. Some clients become lost and struggle with anxiety and depression when feelings of shame, guilt and abandonment come into play. They need someone to help them understand their pain and walk with them as they transform their lives.

Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has 27 years of experience in providing mental health services to individuals and families. Melissa has previous experience working in outpatient, school-based, and home-based/community settings. She enjoys working across the life span, primarily providing individual and family therapy. Melissa’s expertise is working with depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, personality disorders,  family conflict, relationship issues, grief/loss, and adjustments/transitions in life.

In 2022, I graduated from Anderson University with a bachelor’s degree in social work. Over my time there, I was very privileged to have had the opportunity in my several internships and practicums to engage with a diverse set of clients. Issues I helped clients deal with included anxiety, depression, relationship and family problems, trauma, and behavioral issues. These clients were composed of many different ages and backgrounds.

I feel I am most helpful when working with clients who have a sense of where they want their lives to go, who acknowledge the obstacles that confront them, and who are willing to form a collaborative relationship with me to address those challenges and apply the principles and practices that will produce the desired outcomes in their lives.
