I work with adult clients and with couples.
In the decades I have worked with clients, I have come to deeply appreciate and respect the strength and resilience of the human spirit. I work with clients to connect with and build on these inherent strengths, enabling them to replace anxiety, depression, and the effects of traumatic experiences with an enhanced sense of empowerment over their lives. Present moment living and conscious choices replace worry and regret. Small deliberate changes can yield significant results. I believe that problems are better viewed as important opportunities for understanding, growth, healing, and change. My approach is holistic and integrative

People come to therapy with wounds. And it is in these wounds that the light shines through. In therapy, we learn we need not fear the places where one feels stuck, overwhelmed or enslaved. My approach to psychotherapy is holistic, integrating mind body and spirit, through a variety of modalities. My diverse background has deepened my understanding for those wrestling with existential, spiritual and religious belonging, life transitions, sexual orientation, relational challenges and childhood traumas.

I have experience helping teens, adults, and couples in crisis.
Are you tired of feeling sad, hopeless, lost or just plain shitty? It's hard sometimes to find the energy to brush our teeth. Feeling like everything around you is falling apart, like there's no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep asking yourself, "Why can't I feel better?" leaving you disconnected, stuck, and searching for answers. That inner voice telling you you're not good enough. That you're undeserving. If you're exhausted from just talking about your trauma and not feeling real change, you're not alone. I use body-centered, trauma informed methods to help you actually process what's

Maybe you grew up feeling unseen or having to be “the strong one", and now those patterns show up in your marriage, parenting, or even how you talk to yourself.
If your relationship feels strained, communication is tough, or the same conflicts keep resurfacing, you’re not alone. You and your partner may feel out of sync, carrying the weight of unresolved tension. You long for a deeper connection but don’t know how to rebuild it. Healing begins with awareness and change, together we can create new patterns.

I work with individuals, families and couples dealing with various issues from working through everyday issues to chronic mental health issues.
One of my specialities is helping people work through traumatic events. There are many experiences that are traumatic to people and understanding how the event impacts your life is essential to begin working through your issues, this is often long process but will lead to a more fulfilled life.

Marriage Counseling Therapists
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
