I believe there is a light at the end of everyone's tunnel, some people just have longer tunnels. My role is to work with you and remind you of the tools that you have in your toolbox so you can find the light within your tunnel. I have over 10 years of experience working with teens, adolescents, couples, and families who have experienced a myriad of life stressors and disorders. From anxiety, depression, conduct disorder, ODD, relational and marriage issues, substance use, trauma, and phase of life issues, I am able to help. This journey we call life can feel like a lot, but nothing is impossible with the right tools.

In the decades I have worked with clients, I have come to deeply appreciate and respect the strength and resilience of the human spirit. I work with clients to connect with and build on these inherent strengths, enabling them to replace anxiety, depression, and the effects of traumatic experiences with an enhanced sense of empowerment over their lives. Present moment living and conscious choices replace worry and regret. Small deliberate changes can yield significant results. I believe that problems are better viewed as important opportunities for understanding, growth, healing, and change. My approach is holistic and integrative

Hello, I'm Terry. As your therapist, my goal is to help you become the best version of yourself. I believe that life's experiences teach us valuable lessons about the world, and depending on your personal journey, you might find it challenging to function in the present and feel like your best self. Even the most grounded individuals can be thrown off balance by life events and past or present traumas, leading to significant cognitive distortions that impact behavior and choices.

You may look like you’re holding it all together, yet inside feel anxious, exhausted, or weighed down by stress and past experiences. Emotions may feel overwhelming, or you may feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. You want to feel calmer, more confident, and more in control. You want healthier relationships, stronger boundaries, and clarity about how to move forward. If you feel stuck, know that change is possible and you don’t have to carry it alone.

I understand reaching out for help can be a difficult decision. Making that effort can be more difficult. Recognize, and give yourself credit as you've taken that first step towards improving your emotional and mental well being. I believe in meeting a patient where they are on their personal journey. Life stressors' can be deeply personal and painful. I am very humbled and honored to be a part of that journey. Together we will establish rapport and trust. I look forward to meeting you and discussing the potential you possess from within. Sending strength, empowerment and peace to you.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
