I help individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, ADD, rumination, and perfectionism.
Do you ever feel like your brain just won’t let something go? Maybe you replay conversations, constantly seek reassurance, expect the worst, or feel trapped in “what if” thoughts. You know your worries don’t make sense, but that doesn’t stop them from feeling real. You’re tired. Tired of overthinking everything. Tired of anxiety making decisions for you; feeling like you’re doing everything you can to hold it together while wondering why it still feels so hard. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s keeping you stuck, understand the patterns that are holding you back, and develop practical tools that actually fit your life.

I offer specialized treatment tailored to neurodivergent individuals with ADHD, anxiety, autism, and OCD, and those within the LGBTQ community.
Many of the adults I work with across Indiana, Florida, Chicago, and Northern Virginia appear capable and accomplished on the outside but feel privately overwhelmed. Some were recently diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood; others are questioning whether years of anxiety, burnout, or self-doubt have masked neurodivergence. You may be juggling a demanding career while struggling with executive dysfunction, chronic procrastination, emotional intensity, or the quiet shame of feeling “behind” despite working twice as hard.

Do you wish that your brain came with an owner's manual? Have your compulsive habits made a mess of your health and your relationships? Does a difficult past keep intruding on your present? I am here to help! My clients start counseling because they feel stuck in patterns of harmful behaviors and negative thinking. They can see where they want to go in life, they just can't seem to make the lasting changes that would allow them to get there. Frequently, they describe feeling overwhelmed and hopeless, unsure that things can ever really improve. Let me help you get unstuck!

Today is your "someday!" Anxiety, PTSD, and depression are some of the leading reasons people seek therapy. Anxiety, PTSD, and depression can keep people from being able to reach their best potential because they focus on what could go wrong instead of what could go right. Life experiences and circumstances inform anxiety experiences. It is so important to have healthy coping skills to deal with anxiety, PTSD, and depression, so you are not overwhelmed. I would love to help you learn healthy coping skills to effectively get through struggles you may be going through.

Life is a journey. However, our journeys often include interruptions as a result of experiences such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, issues resulting from trauma, loss, divorce, relationship issues, parenting issues, and issues with aging, to name a few. These experiences can negatively impact our thoughts, feelings, and behavior and our overall quality of life. It is important to know that your life does not have to remain negatively impacted by what has happened to you.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
