You deserve a space where you can show up exactly as you are-without judgement, pretense, or pressure to "have it all together." My approach to therapy is rooted in authenticity, compassion, and evidence-based care. I believe growth often begins in the moments we feel most uncertain or afraid- and that with the right support, those same moments can lead to deep healing and transformation. I work with individuals across the lifespan- navigating addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, and grief. My approach is warm, collaborative, and direct, focused on healing and meaningful growth.

Perhaps you are struggling with personal issues and are caught in a cycle of insanity doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. You feel stuck in a rut that you can't seem to find your way out of. You put on a "happy" face to others but inside feel empty, lost, or just plain sad. You so badly want to heal from a bad childhood, a terrible break up, or a traumatic event. You are ready to begin the process of healing your mind, body, and soul. You are ready to heal these wounds. I am ready to go on this journey with you and I can help. I hope to help my clients reconnect with themselves and others.

Life is hard and it doesn't always let us catch our breath before the next thing comes. Perhaps you need some help finding a solution for the next step or maybe you just need someone to listen to you and show some empathy. Sometimes you don't understand why you get so angry, irritable, or emotional about the small inconveniences that come up in life and maybe you'd like to be more mindful and in control of your emotions/reactions. Whether it be someone to listen to you, someone to find a solution with, or just to get back control of your life so you can be the expert of it, I can help.

Substance Use Therapists
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.

Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
