Life can feel overwhelming when it seems there are more challenges than triumphs. It is during those times that it can help to have someone come alongside us on our journey to highlight our strengths and help us build skills to conquer the challenges. I am passionate about working with older children, adolescents, and women who are dealing with adjustment, anxiety, attention-deficit, or depressive challenges, or who find themselves in various stages of self-discovery and life transitions. I also enjoy working with parents to strengthen family connections and with couples desiring to build or re-establish emotional connection.

My areas of expertise include the assessment of neurodevelopmental disabilities including autism, learning/academic problems, ADHD , mood disorders, and challenging behaviors.
Is your child having difficulty sitting still during class? Is she struggling academically? Or he is irritable and moody? Is your child a picky eater? As a parent, you may wonder, "Is this normal?" Life can be complex and challenging, and psychological testing can aid in providing clarity and better understanding your child. Testing can also assist in identifying barriers that are impeding your child's optimal functioning. I will partner with your family to better understand the difficulties and then develop a clear, concise plan following testing to access resources and treatment services to best support your child's needs.

INDY Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback changed my family's life. Having observed first hand this life changing therapy, I felt convicted to make this available in Indiana. There is no reason for most to suffer from insomnia, anxiety, depression, ADHD , pain, migraines or a host of other ailments. Most are not inherently or irrevocably flawed. Instead, many of the problems that plague us are a case of "operator error". INDY Neurofeedback offers hope for true health - not a "bandage" with potentially harmful side effects or coping skills. How wonderful, that what amounts to exercises for the brain can permanently effect such change!"

Are you exhausted, struggling, longing for more, constantly committing to "get your life together?" Do you feel like you're constantly dropping loose ends and wonder how everyone else does it? Or are you overwhelmed, overstimulated, and overextended, jittery during the day and not sleeping at night? Has a moment in time caught you in its web and you are ready to become untangled? Are you "different" (LGBTQIA+, ethically non-monogamous, Pagan or pagan-friendly, etc.) and looking for a therapist who "gets it"? Whatever the journey has brought you, your courageous heart has led you here.

Living with worry, doubt, and self-criticism is painful. Being overwhelmed, disorganized, and deeply lonely is hard. Perhaps you think your problems and feelings don’t (or shouldn’t) matter. Netflix, food, alcohol, or Wordle seem safer than setting limits or having tough conversations. You long to feel calm and connected to yourself and others, but you don’t know how. You may blame yourself for being unable to solve this on your own.

ADHD Therapists
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.

If you're looking for a Fortville ADHD therapist, these professionals provide ADHD therapy and counseling in Fortville.
