I utilize my clinical experience and education in mental health counseling as well as my training in ACT and ERP to create customized plans for teens and adults who struggle with symptoms of anxiety, phobias, and/or OCD.
When anxiety gets the final word in our story, we end up missing out on the life we desire to live. We all want to care for the people we love, experience success, and feel peace, but even our deepest values seem impossible to live out when we can't enjoy the present moment. Therapy offers us support to focus on what matters to us, even when our minds never seem to "shut off." Through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), I journey with clients as they identify their values and practice the essential skills needed to face their fears and experience relief.

I am passionate about working with people who have anxiety disorders and OCD - in my experience they are clear how long they have suffered, they work hard in treatment, and, then, they get better.
Anxiety has a powerful impact on a person's beliefs and behaviors, but with careful attention we may be able to chip away at those. In our work together, you will be put to work on your problems right away, as it takes work to change those patterns. Although treatment can be a lot of work, the pain of OCD or anxiety usually makes the hard work worth it.

Whether it’s perfectionism, OCD rituals, or a relentless internal critic, the "logic" isn't working anymore.
I help people bridge the gap between knowing better and feeling better. By integrating the gold-standard tools of ERP and ACT with a psychodynamic lens, we tackle your anxiety from both ends. We handle the "here and now" behaviors that keep you stuck, while simultaneously addressing the deeper emotional roots that cause them.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
