Most of my clients not only work on changing thoughts to impact behavior, but also shift their habits so that their body/brain perform at its best. This can be done at any age. Learning new coping techniques, regulation skills, increase in healthy habits and decrease of unhealthy habits.

I am dedicated, committed, and highly passionate Licensed Social Worker. I have an array of experience working with all age groups from early childhood and beyond. I have worked with individuals and families from various social and economic backgrounds, cultures, Spiritual backgrounds, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. I am experienced working with trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, victims of child abuse and neglect, amongst other mental health issues. I have a dedicated a large portion of my career to working with children and adolescents with behavioral issues.

I am a sex-positive, LGBTQIA affirmative, polyamory friendly, and kink aware therapist. My approach to therapy is fundamentally collaborative and affirming. I am here to meet you where you're at so we can make steps down your personal path together. I want to help you to better understand your own feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and means of coping to move you toward feeling more like your authentic self.

I’ve been practicing since 2006. I have spent 4 years working in private practice settings, 12 years working with DCS/probation clients, and 7 years working in the jail setting (5 of those being the clinical supervisor). I have a passion for working with those who have an opiate addiction with or without medication management. I have experience working with groups, couples, and those who suffer from anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder (with and without psychotic features), OCD, ADHD, suicidal ideation, crisis intervention, gender issues, parenting issues, stress, self-esteem, self-worth, self-respect, and many more.

I primarily specialize in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, change of life difficulties, and have strong experience working with LGBTQIA individuals. I find it really rewarding when we can chisel away at some of the automatic thoughts that may be clouding your experience or worsening your symptoms. I think it is important that the patient take the lead in therapy and utilize the time we have together in a way that makes sense to them based off of the difficulties they are experiencing. As such, I take a collaborative approach with my patients and welcome feedback that may make our work together more effective and enjoyable.

Some clients present with a general feeling that something they cannot pinpoint needs to be explored. 40% of my clients are women and 60% are men.

The ideal client is the one who understands they need help with their addiction and finds different ways to reach out for assistance. This clinician role in helping clients to fight addiction and return them to living a substance free lifestyle. The goal is to stabilize the client, during their addiction and make progress during therapy to reduce/eliminate the urges and cravings that are associate with substance use. I have 35 years of experience working within the community mental health arena provided me with a strong foundation and opportunity to work with a variety of client populations which includes outpatient therapy, alcohol and drug addictions treatment, gambling addiction, inpatient psych, and inpatient medical stabilization for alcohol/opiate detoxification. My goal is to support & empower my consumers to discover their inner strength.
