From there I select evidence-based modalities: CBT, I-CBT, ERP, MI, ComB, WET, SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) as well as a combination of somatic and expressive therapy tools to address specific issues.
Accepting new clients for Telehealth only. I enjoy working with adults and older teens who are having symptoms such as feeling overwhelmed, intrusive/unwanted thoughts, repetitive behaviors, worry, fear, self-doubt, perfectionism and stress due to life transitions. I commonly treat OCD, anxiety, mild to moderate depression, relationship issues and parenting difficulties. In 2022 I started treating Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRB's). I work with adults living with ADHD who experience the above symptoms alongside their ADHD. I am now a provider of SPACE .

Sometimes in life things happen that we don't feel we can solve on our own. Things can build up over time and take a toll on us emotionally and physically. Therapy is a place where you can make sense of things and heal. We can develop a plan specific to your individual needs using evidence based therapy techniques like Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reproccessing (EMDR). Both these therapies are extremely effective for treating anxiety, depression, and trauma related symptoms and distress.

I frequently use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Somatic Experiencing both of which can be very helpful in processing past traumatic or scary events.
Sometimes we feel sad, lonely, anxious, scared, worried, angry or maybe even unsure exactly how we feel, but something feels off. Sometimes when we are really upset we start to feel physical symptoms in our bodies. Sometimes we can feel very irritable or even have outbursts of anger. Sometimes we just can’t stop thinking about something that happened and other times we don’t want to think about it at all. Sometimes we notice ourselves becoming disconnected from others or just not doing what we used to enjoy doing. Sometimes we can’t sleep even if we really want to and feel tired.

I also believe that everyone is a unique person, and will require a unique approach to services, therefore I utilize talk, art, and/or somatic approaches.
Life is hard; just naturally, on its own. And the way we do life doesn't always make it any easier! It is my belief that the one thing that allows us to cope with this life is connection, both with ourselves and others. As a therapist, that is my underlying goal with every one of my clients, to help them connect in a deeper, more powerful way with themselves and others. I work with clients of all ages (5 years and up!) and my diverse educational experience allows me a unique perspective in working with individuals from all backgrounds and cultural groups. I specialize in couples and families, but also work with individuals

Tapping deep into the roots of my training and experience as a depth psychotherapist, trauma specialist, meditation practitioner and mentor, and transformational coach, we work with a powerful mix of leading edge therapies like EMDR, Depth Hypnosis, somatic -based modalities and energy medicine.
How long have you been hearing the call to a different way of being with yourself and the world? It might just be the quiet whispering of your heart urging you to something more. Or perhaps the whole universe is shouting that something has got to change, you can’t keep living like this. Avoiding our fear of change can keep us stuck. But your capacity to heal is only limited by your beliefs about what is possible. Genuinely transformational work is ultimately a mix of intentional effort and surprising playfulness. It’s about engaging your inner life in new and creative ways in the safe space of a trusted relationship.

Alongside traditional talk therapy, I work from a humanistic and somatic framework that explores the mind-body connection as it relates to your hopes for reconnecting with your truest nature.
I believe in our innate capacity to grow and heal. Sometimes we need a little help along the way. I support that process with compassion, acceptance, and respect. I am most passionate about working with those struggling with relational or complex trauma, attachment issues, self-worth, shame, addictions, and parenting. The challenging journey of parenthood is an amazing opportunity to heal ourselves, to love and parent from a calm and centered place, and to raise children who thrive. I also enjoy working with children, and believe that through play is how they best learn, grow, and heal, in relationship with safe, loving adults.

My treatment choices reflect this - I am a certified Brainspotting therapist and in the process of receiving my Somatic Experiencing Practitioner certification.
For the Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) and Empath, the world can be an overwhelming place. These individuals are “super sensing” - their central nervous systems process sensory and energetic information more deeply than the average person. Years of taking in this level of input without awareness and compassion can lead to symptoms of anxiety, depression, patterns of codependency, and unresolved trauma. Your heightened capacity to absorb information does not have to hinder your personal growth & well-being. I specialize in partnering with HSP’s & Empaths as they process traumatic experiences and create positive change in their lives.

THERAPY: I hear so much negativity in our field about work with people. But - I am amazed by some of the people that step foot into my office. I am in awe of their ability to smile through pain. I feel blessed that I get to share in their strong, resilience and desire to grow and change. I learn so much from them. I’m also frustrated with societies message that emotions like anger, resentfulness and jealousy are abnormal for us to feel. Sometimes they interfere with other parts of our life. These people that I encounter on a day-to-day basis are amazing, beautiful people. To all of them I say-

Somatic Therapy develops healing connections between mind, body, and spirit.
I work with adults and teens who wish to live with more vitality, ease, and authenticity. My approach to therapy is helpful for clients seeking to develop a sense of safety and peace within their bodies; handle stress effectively; heal from trauma, and release chronic anxiety patterns; increase self-esteem; unleash their creative potential; connect with emotions without being ruled by them; and change patterns that keep one feeling stuck or acting out in addictive cycles. My practice addresses a broad range of life concerns, with special emphases for those interested in body image, food/eating, addiction recovery, trauma, and nature connection or environmental grief.

What type of Columbus mental health professional is right for me?
While most types of therapy have a lot in common, they also fall into clusters that share core features, such as cognitive therapies or psychodynamic approaches. It is important to seek someone who practices evidence-based therapy, meaning one or more forms of treatment that have been scientifically evaluated and tested, and demonstrate consistent improvement for a majority of patients.

If you are unsure about choosing the right therapist, it might be useful to first learn more about therapy types and modalities.
How to find a therapist in Columbus?
When looking to find a therapist, it is certainly important to consider training and credentials. Studies also indicate that the therapeutic alliance, or the relationship the client develops with the therapist, is an important factor in their ability to work together to achieve the client’s goals.

What method of therapy is right for me?
When it comes to treatment methods, there's no 'right way.’ Each method of therapy can be beneficial for a variety of issues. Finding a psychologist or therapist who is a good fit for you is the most important step to discovering what type of therapy, or combination of therapeutic approaches, will meet your individual needs. Learn what to expect from different types of therapy and how they work.

How to use my insurance?
Understanding cost and insurance coverage is an important concern for many people. With some basic research and conversations with prospective therapists, you should be able to have a good understanding of the best way to afford therapy.
