I prefer to do in-person sessions but can offer telehealth if needed or on occasion.
Welcome! I want you to know that you are not alone and I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and recovery. Therapy is often one of the few places we get be our authentic selves. When we lean into vulnerability, we are free to pursue genuine connection and healing. My office is a safe space and judgement free zone, full of unconditional positive regard. Everyone needs a soundboard; this is your place to feel heard. We will develop a plan to address your concerns together, whether it is managing stress and life transitions or addressing mental health symptoms of conditions like anxiety, depression, ADHD, or PTSD.

We're not always prepared for the challenges that come our way. Sometimes we encounter a problem we can't figure out on our own. It helps to have someone else to lean on to get us through a difficult period. My primary job as a counselor is to give encouragement, impart a sense of hope, and help restore balance in the lives of my clients. For some clients it's a rare experience to be truly heard, understood, and empathized with. I'll provide a warm, non-judgmental environment that allows you to tell your story.

In-person and telehealth available.
Would you believe I started out in film school before becoming a therapist? Giving up a path in entertainment may seem backward but my family had been suddenly impacted by terminal and chronic illness. My own grief journey inspired me to help people so I finished my education in Social Work and I've been a therapist since.

I allow the client to chose the setting for their therapy session, whether it is in office or teletherapy.
Image a life that allows you to move forward, experiencing all life has to offer to it's fullest. Change is possible and through the guidance and support of therapy, one can maximize all that life has to offer. Change lies within each of us, and with personal responsibility and direction one can achieve life goals. The potential of any individual is determined not by past struggles but in one's ability to overcome personal struggle and capitalize on one's inherent resilience. With guidance and direction, one can move out of the shadows of the past, into a vibrant, hopeful future.

While traditional talk therapy can be helpful for some, it is not for all. Art and other expressive therapies can be utilized as a tool to help people of all ages express, process and communicate their social and emotional needs when words aren’t enough. I enjoy working with children ages 3+ and have specialized in helping others regulate emotions, decrease and cope with stress, anxiety and depression; increase self-esteem, social skills and mood; and process traumatic events.

Some clients do not know where to begin to feel better. Reaching out for help is the first step! Maybe you or your child is struggling with feeling anxious, sad, irritable, angry, numb, or struggling to focus. These feelings may impact school, work, and relationships. I see clients, ages 10 and up, with a variety of struggles, including issues with poor self-esteem, anxiety, depression, ADHD, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, PTSD, abuse histories, borderline personality disorder, and more. Most of my clients want to simply feel better, improve relationships and quality of life, and learn more about themselves.

I don’t have expectations set for clients. I believe therapy is a place where you are meant to be met wherever you are at. That being said, I believe it is important for a client to be willing to engage and connect with me throughout the therapeutic process because I believe connection is where change begins.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
