I have always had a passion and a deep respect for humanity, for learning about others, for appreciating the differences and personal histories, and for discovering how individuals' values drive their own power to heal themselves. As a therapist, it is my privilege to be a mere facilitator of the discovery process. I look forward to aiding the change process in its many forms and in the time frame that you--the individual—desires and determines. With 15 years of experience in the field, I feel that I bring experience but also a fresh perspective of how to help.

Therapy is not like what is portrayed on tv. I am not going to nod and scribble on a note pad while you lie on a couch. Every session with each client is different depending on what is going on in their lives at the time. I have a small caseload as I am pursing my PH.D which means I will have more time and skills for you. I have worked extensively with substance use disorders, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I am EMDR certified and am able to provide this service if it is right for you. I have worked with adolescents and adults from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.

I offer in-person and telehealth session.
Welcome to a unique therapeutic journey. I offer a therapy space rooted in deep presence, honesty, and slowing down. Many of the folks I work with have found safety in thinking their way through emotions, pulling away when life feels too intense, or searching for answers outside of themselves. In our sessions, we move at the pace your nervous system can tolerate by bringing awareness to what you feel in your body, what emotions surface, and what shows up in the therapeutic relationship in real time. Rather than rushing towards solutions or insight, we create safety to remain when the urge to run and disconnect appears.

I offer online and in-person
The ups and downs of life can cause issues, which if not addressed, can cause mental health problems. Therapy is a place to learn how to transform our internal dialogue during those challenging times in our life. It can mean confronting what we have typically avoided, in a safe and reaffirming environment where science-based interventions reinforce resiliency. I believe that empathy and compassion combined with evidence-based interventions can help you develop coping skills that facilitate growth to your person-centered goals. I use a gentle, non-judgmental, but direct approach, and provide a confidential and respectful environment.

I offer therapy in-person and virtually.
I find that consistency, honest conversation, and awareness during sessions bring the most growth. I use ongoing reflection within my diverse approach that highlights each client’s needs and goals. I believe that true connections happen when entering and understanding client’s unique worldview. Finding the therapist that understands your experiences as a Veteran or First Responder feels like another exhausting task. You’ve been anxious and angry for way too long. You thought you were doing "all the right things" and don't understand why you're still feeling this way. There are days you think you have it together but most of the time you know you don't. You put on a smile for everyone but you're really unhappy inside and feel completely disconnected. You're tired of feeling miserable, exhausted and confused. You're at a complete loss of what to do anymore. You know this isn't you. You're ready to make a change.

I offer virtual and in person appointments.
You're thoughtful and self-aware, yet find yourself second-guessing your instincts in relationships or replaying conversations afterward, wondering whether you said too much, not enough, or the wrong thing. Many people I work with feel confident in many areas of life, yet relationships are where they feel the most uncertain. I work with individuals and couples who want to better understand and shift the deeper emotional patterns shaping their relationships, self-worth and sense of connection.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
