Every person experiences some form of trauma or neglect throughout their lives. For many, these experiences can evolve into challenges such as anxiety, depression, or other emotional difficulties or behavioral concerns. If this statement resonates with you and you’re feeling ready to lessen the impact of these struggles and move toward healing, I would be honored to support you. I am fully EMDR and DBT trained, so I mostly work with trauma-based disorders. The bulk of my clients are 12-25 years old, but I have experience with working with people across the board and welcome anyone motivated to pursue growth and positive change.

I believe that everyone deserves relief from emotional distress so that they can better manage their lives, participate in their community, and achieve their hopes and dreams. I also believe that people are much more than their diagnoses; both our minds and our bodies send us information to help us heal. I enjoy working with clients on whole person care by integrating physical health (diet, sleep, exercise) with a variety of therapeutic styles in order to meet a client where they are at in their journey of healing.

I integrate relational, cognitive, and somatic modalities in a trauma-responsive and collaborative approach, informed by Somatic Experiencing, attachment, EMDR, parts work ( IFS), and anti-oppressive practice.
We are not broken. We do not need fixing. Rather, many of us have survived challenging circumstances and oppressive systems that have deeply hurt us, impacted our sense of wholeness, and kept us stuck in survival; this survival often looks like high cost coping and symptoms. Our work together supports your movement out of survival and into curiosity, possibility, and embodiment. Whether you’re looking to transform your relationships, heal trauma, emotionally skill-up, address chronic pain/illness, create community, stop people-pleasing, etc, we will get creative together in an approach tailored to support your specific needs.

I became a therapist after experiencing the life changing power of therapy for myself. After years of feeling like I was surviving my life one crisis after another, I found a therapist that was a good fit for me. She helped me heal from the pain of my past, learn to prioritize myself, and gave me techniques to build the life I wanted to live. With the zeal of the converted, I entered graduate school to learn how to help others the way I was helped. Along the way I received not only a quality education, but a hefty dose of humility, and a firm belief that every individual has what they need to heal within themselves.

Using parts work ( IFS), somatic therapy, and attachment-based approaches, we go beyond talk therapy to create real, lasting change.
You’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in patterns you can’t break. Maybe school, relationships, or gaming/gambling habits are starting to impact your daily life, or you’re a parent worried about your child. You’ve tried to manage it on your own, but it’s not working. I help college students and adults understand what’s driving these patterns so you can regain control, feel more stable, and move forward with clarity and confidence.

I draw from IFS, ACT, DBT, and Narrative Therapy to help clients unlearn harmful patterns, regulate emotions, and live in ways that align with their values.
You want more than just coping, you want clarity, connection, and to feel more like yourself. You may not know exactly what healing looks like yet, but you know you’re ready for something different. Maybe you're navigating identity questions, relationship tension, or big emotions that feel hard to manage. You might feel stuck in patterns that leave you frustrated, disconnected, or unsure of who you are. You could be someone labeled as “too much,” or someone trying to unlearn roles and rules that no longer fit.

EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Polyvagal Theory are primary modalities I draw on to help you build a life with more contentment.
You've likely been carrying more than most people know. My work is focused on adults in mid-to-late life who are beginning to understand how early experiences — trauma, adverse childhood experiences, attachment wounds — continue to shape who they are today. Traumatic events impact us psychologically, emotionally, and physically, often leading to chronic anxiety, depression, dissociation, substance use, and other life challenges. I am also keenly aware of systemic oppression and work to support people in marginalized groups while continuing my own education.

We may use EMDR, IFS, parts work, body awareness, and storytelling in a way that feels safe, empowering and true to you
To the outside world it looks like you have it all together, but on the inside you feel like you are constantly drowning. You have carried so much for so long that even slowing down is overwhelming. If this resonates with you, you are not alone. This may be a sign that something needs to shift, whether or not you know what that is. In therapy, we will explore the patterns that have worked so hard to keep you safe, even when they no longer fit. I believe healing starts when we meet your experiences with compassion and curiosity: unlearning what hurt you, honoring what helped you survive & making room for deep healing to take root.

I regularly use EMDR, IFS-informed parts work, emotion-focused therapy, and cognitive and behavioral therapies.
I view my role as companion on the journey to mental and emotional wellness. Symptoms are trailheads that lead to places where healing is needed. My approach is both practical and spiritual—in a broad sense of the word. Happiness is fleeting; joy abides. Joy is experienced when life has purpose and meaning. I have experience working with problems and diagnoses including depression, anxiety, sleep disturbance, bipolar disorder, substance use, and some personality disorders.

I am dedicated to collaborating with those who have experienced complex developmental trauma and educating other providers about its impacts. I have a lived understanding of how experiences from childhood can shape your outlook, behaviors, and access to resources. I view the “symptoms” that arose from these experiences as adaptations that helped you survive. It is a privilege to help you resolve patterns passed down to you so that you can heal and move forward on your own terms.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
