Starting your mental health journey can be scary. Finding a therapist with whom you can connect and open up to is a challenge. Having had my own share of not-so-great therapists in the past, I felt led to not only find healing for myself but to learn how to effectively help others. My goal is to be for others the kind of therapist I needed while growing up – one who understands depression, anxiety, and neurodivergence, is trauma-informed and empathetic, and is willing to meet you where you are, and walk the path alongside you.

Therapy is available in-office, via telehealth, through walk-and-talk sessions, and in experiential outdoor settings.
Do you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected? Are you navigating big transitions, identity shifts, trauma, or patterns that no longer serve you? Do you want clarity, confidence, and a life that feels aligned, not just managed? Are you seeking healthier relationships, steadier emotions, and a deeper sense of belonging? Through a holistic, experiential approach, I help clients understand how past experiences and early relationships shaped the way they interact with the world. Together, we deconstruct old patterns, build emotional intelligence, and create new ways of living well with purpose and authenticity.

Life can become overwhelming when stress, anxiety, relationship struggles, or past experiences begin affecting your daily life and the people closest to you; not to mention incredibly lonely. Sometimes people come to counseling because they feel stuck in the same painful, exhausting patterns. Other times, life is simply hard, and they are carrying more than they know how to manage alone. Whether you are seeking help as an individual or as a couple, therapy can provide support, perspective, and practical direction during difficult seasons. Real healing and change are possible.

When you have suffered trauma, betrayal, or come from an unhealthy family system, you learn early on that truth is inconvenient and threatening. Something to be punished. You learn that to keep the peace, you have to abandon yourself. You say "yes" when you mean "no". You feel overwhelmed, hypervigilant, alone, and unsure about what is real. You lose touch with your values, loved ones, and even yourself. You may not even know how to have a deep connection with someone, but you certainly long for one. You've learned its not safe to feel, to dream, or to have needs of your own. You're tired. You want to do more than just survive.

I provide an experience where your problems can be addressed in an open, non-judgmental, and confidential setting. I am not a passive therapist. I seek to help individuals, couples, and families learn how to move forward. Learning may involve growing one's self- acceptance or lessening one's dependence upon approval. It may involve improving one's judgment and/or taking care of oneself in relationships. The learning may involve "letting go" of a "bad" relationship or grieving losses . It may involve overcoming anxiety, depression or addiction(s). Lastly, learning may involve restoring broken trust or estrangement.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
