Life can feel overwhelming when stress, anxiety, mood changes, or past experiences start to take over daily life. You may be feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, struggling with emotional regulation, relationship challenges, or finding it hard to manage cravings, impulses, or stress. For many people, these challenges show up alongside depression, trauma, ADHD, or substance use, and can make it difficult to feel steady or hopeful.

Hello and welcome! I am a passionate therapist aiming to create a strengthened connection between the mind and body. Our body often remembers before we do, which can cause our reactions to adversity and trauma to feel like an over-reaction. Understanding our body and the experiences stored within it is an important ingredient in working through stored emotions and memories. Change can be difficult and overwhelming; Alan Watts once said, “The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.” I encourage you to make this journey yours, move with it and learn the dance that empowers you.

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by anxiety, grief, or old wounds that just won’t quiet down — even when everyone tells you “you should be fine by now”? If you’re tired of pushing through life alone, feeling unseen or misunderstood, and wondering what healing could feel like, you’re not alone — and you deserve a space where your story matters. It can take courage just to consider reaching out, and that step is worth honoring.

My ideal client is strong, smart, and self-aware—but secretly exhausted. They’ve survived more than most people know, yet keep finding themselves in the same loops of overwhelm, conflict, or self-doubt. They need more than a listening ear; they need honest feedback, practical skills, and a clear path forward. Their goal is to stop reacting from old wounds, set boundaries without guilt, and rebuild their resilience so they feel at home in their own skin. They want lasting change because the constant effort to “get it right” has started to wear down their hope.

My ideal client would be one who doesn’t know where to begin and is okay with some homework! You will be challenged. You will be moved. You will be loved. And you will have the Truth of scripture throughout our journey. We may not always agree, but you won’t get personal opinions without biblical support. You won’t get judged, just a steady dose of Truth. I will create a safe place to take a deep breath, look around and discover Truth. You will learn to discern lies, apply Truth, and connect with other travelers on the journey. You will be encouraged, immersed into the stories of others, and possibly inspired to contribute.

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Therapists
How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.

What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.

How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.

How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
