Accepting new clients! I completed my Masters at St Francis and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Master Addiction Counselor. I previously spent 15 years in the child welfare field working with families, children, and adolescents both in and out of the home and have run court-ordered substance abuse groups. I now own my own practice, which is a culmination of all my previous experiences. At Thrive Therapy I take a holistic and integrated approach, treating each client as an individual with unique needs. Every session is tailored according to the client's current situation.

I enjoy working with clients who want to gain insight into their emotions and behaviors. I utilize a systemic approach while working with clients and design treatment strategies that are highly effective in the reduction of symptoms. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and a graduate of Huntington University. I have worked with individuals in a community counseling center and university setting. I have growing experience working with adolescents, teens, young adults, and adults. Specific areas of experience and interest include: anxiety, depression, trauma, family and relationship issues, eating concerns, and stress management. I am also able to offer counseling from a distinctly Christian perspective if desired, but I enjoy connecting with people from all faith backgrounds.

I am a pre licensed clinician with 25 + years experience. I am a private practitioner who works with children, adolescents, adults and families. I have worked with those involved with the department of Child Services from CHINS thru adoption, Indiana courts and individual attorneys. I have extensive training in play based techniques, Dialectical Behavior therapies, cognitive based therapy techniques and focus heavily on trauma recovery, attachment and self regulation techniques. I believe in a client centered approach and focus on the needs of the individual/family and adapt a therapy model based on that need.

I love working with kids and seeing how play transforms lives! I am a clinical social worker and a registered play therapist (RPT). I have worked with kids with a variety of concerns including behaviors, trauma, and regulation. I'm very playful in my approach, using a lot of sensory tools and activities specific to each child. I am client-centered, strengths based, trauma-informed and use an eclectic approach.

I left my career in the finance industry to pursue my passion for healing and health in 2013. I have a warm and caring personality and am experienced working with individuals, couples, families and children. I use a variety of treatment modalities, but my approach is very client-centered. I often utilize a cognitive behavioral approach to counseling, helping clients understand the relationship between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors and learning which they can control.

I have been involved in therapy for almost twenty years working in areas of criminal justice, social services, mental health, welfare and addiction treatment. I have enjoyed working with all age clients-each having different challenges. Although I enjoy working with all clients, areas of specialization: Adolescent behavioral issues, gambling and addictive behaviors, family and marriage counseling. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. By using Cognitive Processing Therapy and Exposure Therapy, I treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have knowledge working with individuals that have experienced traumas related to military, sexual trauma, and stressful events such as COVID-19. I also have expertise with using Parent Child Interaction Therapy to work with parents of children with emotional and behavior issues. I assist with helping you bond, cope and have more confidence as a parent.

Prior to working full time in clinical therapy, Stephen served almost 20 years as a pastor. During that time, he dedicated a significant portion of his ministry to counseling those struggling with various emotional, spiritual, and relational issues. Since then, Stephen has worked in both private practice and community mental health settings. He has teamed with clients from all age groups and diverse backgrounds to help them overcome life struggles, process through mental health concerns, and manage relationships and daily functioning.
