As a counselor, I believe in the transformative power of insight as the foundation for meaningful change. My approach centers on helping clients uncover the precursors to their struggles, whether rooted in past experiences, deeply held beliefs, or automatic thought patterns. Through compassionate exploration, I assist individuals in identifying the underlying factors contributing to their current symptoms, fostering self-awareness that serves as a catalyst for growth. I emphasize the importance of this initial realization, helping clients connect with their reasons for change and the motivation that drives them forward.

As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional my work integrates evidence-based modalities including EMDR, somatic approaches, CBT, and Internal Family Systems.
Licensed in AZ, TX, IL & IN. Life is full of obstacles, whether they started early on in our life or later. Regardless, these life events can impact us in ways that we don’t always understand. We can get caught up in patterns of thoughts and behavior we desperately want to change but feel powerless to. It can be challenging to navigate through life and relationship-most often the ones that mean the most to us. Reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when past experiences have made it difficult to feel safe or trust others. I work to help clients feel comfortable, respected, and supported from the very beginning.

Are you feeling emotionally overwhelmed, or like your life is passing you by? Do you find yourself worrying about anything and everything? Is it difficult for you to feel at peace or like you’re a spectator in your own life? Often times, when we’re stressed and anxious, our minds can default to the fight, flight, or freeze mode, causing us to feel helpless or out of control. This can lead to chronic anxiety, low self-worth, and even shame, if left unaddressed. If you're ready to take the first step toward healing and move from just surviving to thriving in the present moment, you've come to the right place!

For over 10 years, I’ve walked alongside children, teens, and adults who felt stuck in places they never meant to camp - whether that’s addiction, anxiety, depression, or the lingering effects of trauma.
In our first session together, we’ll start with brief introductions and take some time to map out the challenges you’re currently navigating. From there, we’ll chart a thoughtful, personalized path forward, guiding our work in the sessions ahead.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
