I have helped clients work through issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and a variety of other circumstances.
When I was a kid, I observed my mom go through counseling. I saw her gain tools to manage depression and evolve into someone who knew her worth. She modeled for me how effective counseling can be. It is my absolute pleasure to support my clients in this way. I am especially passionate about supporting women of color in healing from wounds, and seeing & strengthening their resilience. I am leading a group for BIPOC women from January 4, and would be thrilled to share more to see if this is a good fit for you.

I look forward to working with individuals that are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and re-balancing their life. There comes a time in all of our lives where we need the compassion and support of a therapist that truly is present and cares. I will offer you a safe space to process and work through your challenges. In my own personal life, I have experienced the loss of my parents and faced cancer twice. I know what it is like to be grieving, very hurt and afraid to move forward. Sometimes it is not only the fear that we have that stops us from moving forward, but we need the tools and support to assist us along our path.

I strive to build meaningful and impactful relationships with anyone who decides to begin individual or couples therapy with me. As we are developing our therapeutic relationship, I seek to understand and demonstrate respect for your identities, your perspective of the world, and to provide a therapeutic space that empowers you to find peace, balance, and security within. You and I will set the tone of our sessions. Our sessions will open and close with open-ended questions, “temperature checks”, recaps, or debriefs in which we will both express whatever concerns, emotions and thoughts come before or during conversation.

Our inner thoughts, beliefs, and mindsets shape our actions and behaviors and often create patterns that are challenging to break out of.

Yes! You are ready, and I am here to help! It is not always easy to seek help in a world in which you often feel unsafe, unseen, unprotected, and at times perceived as a threat. Far too often, you are met with unrealistic expectations on how you're "supposed" to feel and express emotions and what it means "to be a man." I have been able to transform the lives of teenagers and adults who've had significant difficulty managing stress, regulating their emotions, navigating social situations, and processing loss and grief .

Teletherapy
Teletherapy and Online counseling have grown enormously as a medium for therapy since the advent of social distancing. Most therapists are happy to provide sessions by video or phone.

All professionals are licensed to provide video therapy to clients within the State in which they hold their license. Cross State licensing exists, but is rare.

So if you're a client in Illinois, this list of teletherapists are licensed to provide therapy to you online (by phone, video or text based chat) because they are within your state. They are sorted nearest to furthest, with professionals in Illinois listed first.

Teletherapy via phone or video can be very similar to conventional in person sessions. The message is the same, even if the medium is different. There are some advantages in the form of convenience, lack of travel and being in comfort of your own home. Set against those, professionals find it more difficult to read non-verbal signals of their clients, and you may find you yourself can be more easily distracted.
