Therapists Beginning With M in Illinois
I firmly believe that clients seeking counseling services want tools to live better, more fulfilling lives. My approach is not to push change, but to help clients articulate how they want their lives to be — and then work together to create a plan to get there.
My career began in accounting and business, but in 2003, I transitioned into the field of behavioral health. I completed my training at The Family Institute at Northwestern University and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. This combination of business experience and clinical insight allows me to take a balanced, results-oriented approach to therapy.

I believe that therapy is a dynamic experience that can be extremely helpful for lots of people. The process of changing ones life for the better is often a difficult one that requires support and understanding. In my therapy practice I strive to be that supportive guide that many individuals need to get to the next level of existence. I believe that overcoming is not an event, it is a process. Whether one is overcoming depression, relationship issues, or traumatic life experiences, support and thoughtful guidance is often key in recovery.

As a queer, transmasculine, South Asian, neurodivergent, and gender expansive person, I understand how complex the journey of self-understanding can be, especially in a world that often tells us to shrink ourselves to be more palatable. My intention is to support folks with intersecting identities in exploring who you are with courage, compassion, and curiosity.
Together, we can uncover what it means to live more fully as yourself and move toward the life you envision. I believe we each hold the keys to our own liberation; sometimes, we just need the right space to access that power.

At different times and for different reasons, we all experience moments of awareness that something is out of alignment in our lives. Anxiety, depression, excess stress, fear, and shame reveal to us where old wounds, traumas, and shadows are working to undermine our sense of wellbeing. Through compassionate support and authentic presence, therapy offers an opportunity to grow in self-reflection and self-acceptance, allowing heavier energies to dissipate and creating space for lighter, more fluid ways of being. As a result, our mental health improves, our bodies grow stronger, and our spirits become more resilient.

Then, you can connect your mind, body, and spirit so you can step into your authentic self. I am fluent in American Sign Language and am passionate about working with the Deaf, hard-of-hearing, DeafBlind, Deaf+, and disability communities in a way that is culturally affirming.
