Negative experiences are difficult to let go. I know this from the lives I’ve been privileged to be a part of through my work, and my own personal occurrences. They can bother us now, and worry us. They can hold us back in the future. This is not something we have to learn to be okay with and accept. I believe how we think impacts how we feel and act. I also believe we're made for relationships. Often, our memories of past events or our experiences in relationships cause us to inherit different messages and beliefs. At their best, they enable us to function at our most optimal level, and at their worst, cause dysfunction.
Our minds have the ability to aid us to heal; similar to how our bodies have the capacity to heal wounds. Occasionally, we need an intervention to start or complete this process. I can help facilitate this with EMDR. We’ll target the negative messages associated with your past that disrupt the present and steal from your future to begin healing.
