I combine a unique and specialized form of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) based on Choice Theory with a Family Systems approach to treatment. I view maladaptive behavioral patterns as a result of inadequate or dysfunctional life choices. I assist my clients in recognizing these patterns of behavior and encourage them to draw realistic and practical solutions to the things that are hindering growth and happiness through the choices they make in life. I work collaboratively with my clients using a "here and now" problem-solving technique and develop a treatment plan that uses psychotherapy, exercise, nutrition, and social support networks.
In addition to psychotherapy, I specialize in psychological assessment, diagnostic assessment, general neuropsychological testing including evaluations for dementia and competency, sports neuropsychology, and separation and divorce counseling. I also specialize in working with comedians, actors, writers and other entertainment professionals to improve their emotional health and streamline their creative processes.
I choose to work independently as a sole-proprietor, instead of in a group practice, so I can provide my clients with the direct personal care and attention. Early morning hours, late evening hours, and weekend sessions are available, in addition to online video sessions.
