About
Dealing with difficult life situations is harder when decision-making is clouded by emotions that make us feel stuck or act in ways that lead to unwanted outcomes. By learning to think clearer and to safely express emotions, you will discover healthier ways to respond. I work with people whose blocked feelings cause physical and/or emotional pain. I help couples who are caught in problematic relationships develop clearer boundaries. I encourage self care and help you challenge what gets in your own way. I also have expertise in helping ailing people facing end of life issues and welcome those who need/want to explore these concerns.
I see people individually, as couples & in family groups. Therapy is a powerful laboratory to experience how we trip ourselves up, then practice new, more effective means to communicate. It's a safe place to test out what feels too hard to try in our lives. When we can see more options, we can choose new options.
My aim is to help you become more resilient, to support and challenge you at your own pace, so that you become less driven by anxiety or fear. As a board certified physician in Internal Medicine and psychotherapist for over 30 years, I offer a respectful, therapeutic environment and will be with you as you safely explore your situation and learn new skills.
