Do you feel that you are all alone and no one will ever understand what you are going through? We all need extra support and to know that we are not alone. I hope to foster a therapeutic relationship where you feel nurtured, respected, and know that your thoughts and feelings matter. My approach to therapy is strengths-based. I treat the whole person and do not have a one-size-fits-all approach. I believe each individual is unique and can overcome any obstacle. I practice a non-judgmental and empathetic approach and support individuals as they confront their issues and help them realize their unique strengths.

As a relational, psychodynamic therapist, I believe that healing happens through authentic connection and a deep understanding of early childhood experiences, which set the stage for adult life. I work with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan, offering support through the unique challenges of each life stage. I know that starting therapy can feel intimidating or uncertain, and I’m here to offer a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported, while also challenging you to stay true to your goals.

I can help you develop skills for better communication, relationship building, management of depression and anxiety, and grief.
There are times when balance feels lost. Challenges come from many angles and catch us off guard, even when we are prepared. We adjust as best as we can but, change can be difficult, whether its small change or traumatic things that happen in our lives. I work with clients to adjust to even the most difficult changes in a collaborative approach. Starting therapy should not have the stigma of weakness. I have many years of helping people with relationship issues and trauma and I provided a safe non judgmental environment to explore and be heard.

I find fulfillment in helping others get unstuck from anxiety, grief, and overwhelm.
My work has taken me through a variety of clinical settings, where I’ve developed a strong foundation in ACT, DBT, and client-centered approaches. At the core of my work as a therapist is a genuine belief in the importance of compassion, respect, and real human connection. I work to create a space where people feel understood and supported as they move toward a life that feels more meaningful, grounded in their values, and aligned with who they are.

Whether you are experiencing grief and loss, past traumas and painful memories, difficulties in your work or career, or something more difficult to describe, I am ready to join with you on your journey.
My approach to therapy is rooted in seeking to understand all that you are. Each therapy relationship is different and may change over time. Finding out how I can help begins with sitting with one another and seeing how that feels, and from there, we can face the questions at the heart of the therapy process together.

Maybe you are continually having difficulties expressing yourself, or in dealing with stress, grief, anxieties, depression, or family/relationship matters.
I have nearly 20 years experience in mental health, and have been a therapist since 2012. Originally intending to teach, I spent my first years after university working in group homes for children. After a detour into the IT field, I returned to school to study mental health counseling, with an added concentration in couples and family therapy.

Whether you are navigating depression, anxiety, grief, or relationship challenges, I believe healing begins with feeling understood and supported.
Some days in therapy may involve processing difficult emotions or past experiences, while other days may focus on building coping skills, strengthening relationships, or simply finding steadiness during a challenging time. No matter the focus, our work together centers on you and what feels most helpful in the moment.

Exploring our losses, challenges and fears, as well as our successes and strengths, can be both difficult and rewarding. I seek to create an open, accepting and creative environment for this exploration. We can look to understand your goals and challenges, as well as develop more immediate skills in managing disruptive symptoms. In our first session we can discuss what brings you to therapy now, and what you hope to achieve.

I have over 20 years of experience in supporting clients’ mental health. I am passionate about working to help people heal from trauma, work through major life changes or help individuals find their voice and feel empowered. I take an integrative approach with my clients, and believe that establishing a relationship and trust are the most important elements for success. I believe that perinatal mental health is so important–for women to feel mentally resilient and supported during the whole life cycle of fertility. If you’re somewhere on this journey, I would be honored to support you.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
