Hi, I'm Kimberly! I specialize in providing therapy to teens and adults struggling with symptoms of OCD and other anxiety related issues such as social fears, perfectionism, and panic. I love taking behavioral approaches to challenge fears and step outside of their comfort zone. Outside of anxiety treatment, I also enjoy working with people to manage symptoms of depression, trauma, and ADHD. Many people I see may identify with more than one mental health diagnosis and/or have a significant history of symptoms. We will collaborate to identify what you want to work on and what you want to get out of therapy.

I help high-achieving women step onto the other side of trauma, boundary issues and relationship strain. Relationship strain, toxic habits, and mother wounds often go unprocessed causing a significant amount of stress, overwhelm, and feelings of depression that travels and seeps into other areas of their lives. Are you a woman who has found themselves in the midst of having to navigate unprocessed trauma or grief from having to survive toxic romantic partners or relationships? Have you done an audit on your life and discovered that there are themes driving you to repeat the same habits and cycles? It may be time to heal those areas.

Are you the one holding it all together? The capable, dependable one? Have you "made it" on the surface, but something still doesn't quite feel right? You've found success and are considered "high functioning," but the cost is too high. I work with high achieving members of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities who find themselves trying to manage their nervous systems and thrive in spaces that often weren't designed for them. I believe rest and rootedness are things that you deserve, not have to earn. Together, we’ll work toward feeling more grounded, more confident in your boundaries, and more able to show up for your life.

Hi there! You might look like you’re “functioning” on the outside—showing up to work, caring for others, pushing through—but inside, it feels heavy. Maybe anxiety keeps your mind racing, old experiences still echo, or a recent loss or life change has left you feeling untethered. If you’re exhausted from holding it together, you’re not alone—and therapy can be a place where you finally exhale. Together, we slow things down and make sense of what you’re experiencing—at your pace, in a way that feels safe and grounding.

We may often feel overwhelmed, out of control, or caught in patterns we can’t seem to escape. Many of us move around the world carrying secret struggles with negative thoughts, emotions, or urges, which disturb our day-to-day life and make waves in our relationships. Clients who seek my support are resourceful, and have typically tried all of the tools in their existing toolbox. We are searching collaboratively for new pathways to positive change.

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Therapists
How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.

What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.

How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.

How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
