I also specialize in anxiety, depression, self esteem and relationship issues.
My clients wish to make peace with their bodies, food and emotions. Some might struggle with an unhealthy relationship to eating or exercise. Others might hold shame or curiosity around sex that they wish to explore in a safe, nonjudgemental environment. My clients want to learn to embrace and take care of themselves with a nurturing, self-compassionate and anti-diet approach. Ultimately, my clients strive to live their life in a way that feels authentic and in line with their values.

The foundation of my practice is a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental experience for individuals and couples to feel understood while processing the core issues that stand in the way of moving forward. People can feel lost or disconnected as they come into therapy, but the experience of emotional risk taking, opening up about fears, anxieties, malaise, within the individual or couple, can reinvigorate emotional connections and intimacy.

I believe it is important to help clients reflect on their experiences and the root cause of their problems, all while identifying coping mechanisms so the clients can ultimately experience life at their best mental and emotional state. I use evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Theory (DBT). I primarily work with children, adolescents, and young adults with a special focus in trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, emotional regulation, life transitions, peer management, and stress management.

How we make sense of our life experiences and deal with life's challenges is important for all of us. Adoption adds a layer of complexity. Issues of attachment, trauma, loss, race/identity, behavioral regulation, self-esteem and the impact of difficult/unknown early history take on added significance as children grow and mature into young adults. At The Cradle Center for Lifelong Support, I work with all members of the adoption circle My expertise is in strengthening children and their families by improving attachment, communication and understanding through individual/family therapy, parent coaching and education.

When I begin to work with a new client, my goal is to understand each client and see his or her strengths, abilities, and positive qualities. Very often new clients, especially children or teens, are so used to thinking or hearing about their problems that they themselves seem to forget their own positive traits and attributes. I really enjoy helping foster resiliency among my clients, helping them recognize their capacities to cope, heal, and move beyond feeling stuck or powerless. My approach is very effective with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self esteem , and feeling overwhelmed in life.

Sometimes people aren't sure what to work on in therapy. That's okay! We will work collaboratively to identify core concerns, and decide together how to address them. Some issues I've helped people work through include depression, grief, pregnancy loss, life transitions, creative blocks, self-esteem, disempowerment, and spiritual alienation. My approach is insight oriented and relational, and while I am an art therapist, my work is not always art-based. However, as an artist, I've found that my understanding of the creative process illuminates many life situations that benefit from creative problem-solving.

I treat adolescents and adults across the life span, with a special interest in helping 18- to 30-year-olds navigate young adulthood. My style derives from psychodynamic, family systems, relational and cognitive schools of psychotherapy. As an individual and family therapist, I offer a warm, compassionate, accepting environment where clients can safely explore personal issues and family members can learn new ways of understanding each other and being together. My aim is to my help clients deepen their self-awareness, change self-defeating patterns and beliefs, and develop new ways of thinking, feeling, and relating to others.

Helping others through difficult times is my passion, and we all go through difficult times. As a therapist, I try to become part of the situation, feeling the tough times with my client and helping them see things from a different perspective. Together we find ways to solve problems, tackle situations and create beneficial solutions. My style is direct without being overwhelming. I believe therapy can often be positive and fun. Knowledge is power and often therapy turns out to be a great learning experience, allowing clients to realize their strengths and achieve their lifelong goals.

Self Esteem Therapists
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
