Choosing a Counselor. Research shows that the strength of the therapist-client relationship is a key factor in achieving better results. It depends on whether you feel that I understand what it’s like to “walk in your shoes.” I can’t fully experience your life, but I use several methods to build a strong partnership. We work together to set goals and choose the treatment approach that fits you. Each session, we track progress on a scale of one to ten, and I ask for feedback, including a satisfaction rating. But maybe most important is my mindset. No matter what you share with me, I will never judge you.

I maintain the perspective that the therapeutic process is one that is "client-led" and strongly use evidenced-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention therapy ( ERP), and mindfulness-based interventions to help clients.
Are you or your loved one struggling, feeling anxious, or unfulfilled? I enjoy working with adults and children and believe that within a strong therapeutic relationship, all people have the necessary skills to improve their lives and change negative habits in order to see their goals fulfilled. I have advanced training in work with families and gained extensive experience working with individuals and children from my time in community mental health where I worked with a wide variety of clients from different backgrounds and learned to tailor treatment to the needs and goals of each individual client.

I work with clients who feel stuck: whether in life, a situation, their thoughts, or their emotions. If you’re struggling with trauma, grief, OCD, anxiety, or eating-related challenges and are ready to find ways forward, we’d work well together. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, tailoring therapy to fit your needs. Together, we’ll explore your emotions, even the ones you "don't have time for," and identify practical steps you can take between sessions to start moving forward.

I am a firm believer that the success of a therapeutic relationship can be determined within the first two sessions. A strong alliance between the practitioner and client is essential for the success of treatment. As such, I place a strong emphasis on creating an environment that fosters comfortable conversation, safety, and openness between us as partners in the therapeutic process. By doing so, and allowing conversation to flow naturally, I believe that a more authentic alliance can begin to develop. I adhere mainly to cognitive behavioral theory to serve as the backbone for the therapeutic techniques that I employ.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by present-day stressors or carrying the weight of past experiences, you don’t have to navigate it alone. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I work with adolescents and adults to help untangle what’s been keeping them stuck and move toward a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and manageable. I support clients navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, major life transitions, relationship challenges, grief and loss, parenting stress, ADHD, and trauma/PTSD. Whatever you’re facing, nothing is too small or too complicated to bring into therapy.

I use a variety of treatment modalities to meet the unique needs of each client, including CBT, DBT, ERP, ACT, and talk therapy.
Seeing your child or teen struggle with intense emotions, explosive behaviors, or self-harm can be terrifying and exhausting. You may feel like you are walking on eggshells, unsure of how to help them navigate school, social pressure, or trauma. You do not have to face this alone.

Something's gotten in the way of the life you want to be living. Maybe it's OCD ; the relentless loop of doubt, the "what ifs," the exhausting rituals. Maybe it's trauma that lives in your body long after the events have passed. Maybe it's the particular kind of depletion that comes from being the person everyone else leans on. Whatever brought you here, you don't have to navigate it alone. My approach is rooted in collaboration, honoring your strengths and nurturing the connections already within you.

Many of the people I work with have come to believe—often without realizing it—that their worth depends on what they accomplish. They feel driven to succeed, avoid mistakes, and meet everyone's expectations because achievement has become tied to acceptance. Over time, that constant striving can lead to anxiety, perfectionism, loneliness, and the feeling that no matter how much they do, it never feels like enough. Often, my clients are confused and believe they have "no reason" to feel unhappy. The truth is these patterns developed for good reasons and may have even helped you succeed.

To the outside world, you are thriving. You are successful, capable, and in control. Internally, you are obsessed with details, use busyness to outrun your brain, or overthink every decision you make. I specialize in the “High-Achieving Mind” because I know the terrain. I understand the specific suffering of the professional who tries to “outwork” anxiety, perfectionism, and/or OCD. I also understand the unique grief of fertility struggles and IVF. This is often the intersection where high-performance meets biology, and you can no longer optimize, track, and execute your way to success.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
