These help relieve symptoms from many conditions like disrupted sleep, panic attacks, irritability, hypervigilance, depression, sexual dysfunction & more.
I'm the Chief Medical Officer at Stella Mental Health. For 15+ years, my goal has been to help those experiencing mental health challenges to find relief. My passion for helping trauma victims stems from my own personal and family history of coping with PTSD/PTSI and depression. I understand the impact trauma has on one's physical, mental, and emotional well-being. As an anesthesiologist, I discovered the advanced use of stellate ganglion blocks for treating anxiety, trauma, and PTSD/PTSI, perfecting the protocol into the dual sympathetic reset (DSR), an advanced stellate ganglion block (SGB).

I have experience working with adolescents, adults, couples and families. Using a client centered approach I work with the client helping them reach both their short and long term goals. A majority of my clients suffer with anxiety and depression but I work with other diagnoses as well. I am solution focused and like to see improvements and an increase in self esteem.

I work with clients who have anxiety, depression and self esteem issues. What we tell ourselves and what our parents have told us can define how we feel about ourselves. The message is often we are "not good enough". I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients to get rid of the habits and thoughts that may keep them anxious and stressed. A big part of my work is teaching people to negotiate and effectively talk with families and friends, and to be heard and understood without causing any drama. I have trained people in assertiveness and taught parenting classes.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists

How effective is treatment for insomnia?

The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?

There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?

There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?

Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
