Ambetter Therapists in Tinley Park, IL
The feelings of inadequacies, loss, & being overwhelmed by the pain/sorrow have become a fact of life. We consume videos, annotate self-help books, our desks are overflowing with "The idiot's guide to-" and "The mindset of-" and yet we still feel empty. Why? The world told you that this program was the "ultimate fix" if you just put in the effort. We are bombarded with "the only thing you need to (insert any issue)" but how do you actually move to the next step? How do we continue after loss? Were you even taught how? Was anyone taught how? Why don't we talk about it more? How do you manage these challenges?

From my own personal journey, I have a passion for working with those confronting uncertainties around their sense of identity and how they express themselves. These uncertainties may be from issues related to gender identity and sexuality, difficulties with body image, or feeling lost in the transitional stages of life. I deeply value understanding the unique background of every individual and how the intersectionality of various identities impacts the equally unique nature of everyone's lived experiences. I believe this understanding is the key to developing an effective approach to finding and living as our most authentic selves.

You’re noticing how quickly things escalate inside you. Anger surges, sometimes before you even understand why. Afterward, you’re left replaying what happened, questioning your reactions, and wishing you had handled it differently. At night, your mind goes back to moments you can’t quite make sense of – both recent and from much earlier in your life. You try to analyze it, break it apart, figure it out… thinking that the “solution” might bring you some peace. But it only leaves you feeling more confused and hopeless. What you want is relief from that inner chaos so you can move through the world without being overtaken by the past.

Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of their next steps. They may be managing anxiety, depression, relationship stress, life transitions, or the impact of difficult past experiences, and often feel disconnected from themselves or weighed down by responsibilities that feel hard to carry alone. They are looking for a space where they can speak openly without judgment, better understand their emotions and patterns, and develop practical ways to cope with everyday challenges. Their goals often include improving relationships, building confidence, finding balance, and healing from past hurts.
