Is your anxiety preventing you (or your child) from being who you (or they) want to be? Wish you or your child could just get over it? If it was only that simple. Sometimes we just need someone who can give us the tools to not be crippled with anxiety. Anxiety is a necessary part of life, but shouldn't interfere. You're not looking for someone to just talk to on an ongoing basis; that's what your friends and family are for (and you don't need to pay them!) I'm going to help you get in and out of my office feeling "cured" as quickly as we can so that you can save money and be who you want to be.

I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and adults facing anxiety and mood disorders, using proven approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention ( ERP).
Both CBT and ERP allow for constant movement in the process of building awareness around thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My experience in these treatment modalities has allowed me to help clients hone in on their strengths and master ways to cope with difficulties.

As a relational therapist, I believe healing happens in connection, including the connection we build in therapy as therapist and client. Together, we cultivate a supportive and collaborative space to explore how your relationships shape the way you see yourself and move through the world. Our work provides a steady foundation for slowing down, reflecting, and experimenting with new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Many people come to me saying that they don't recognize themselves anymore or that they are not living the life they want to be living. They might feel plagued with negative thoughts, fear, anxiety and overall feel stuck because the things they were using to cope in the past are not helping them now. If you have been feeling this way, you are not alone! I have spent my career working in clinical leadership and providing care for clients struggling with eating disorders, PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, depression & body image concerns. I believe in providing empathy + evidenced-based treatments and the power of healing in community.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention ( ERP), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are some of the evidence-based treatments I use to to help people overcome past traumas, anxiety, depression, and OCD.
Using ERP, I assist clients in confronting their fears and obsessions in a supportive environment, gradually reducing the power of compulsive behaviors. I also incorporate EMDR and CBT techniques to challenge and reframe negative thought patterns that contribute to anxiety and depressive symptoms.

I also offer more structured therapeutic interventions such as Exposure & Response Prevention ( ERP) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing).
If you’re someone who usually overcomes challenges with ease, feeling stuck can be especially unsettling. Struggling doesn’t make you weak, it makes you human. Let’s work together to help you feel more grounded, more self-assured, and more like yourself again. We’ll connect in a way that’s warm and genuine. I’ll offer gentle encouragement as we work toward meaningful change. I strive to provide a space that feels safe and comfortable for you. Above all, I help my clients rediscover the resilience and strength that already exists within them.

In a world filled with uncertainty, adversity, and ever-changing expectations, it makes sense for us to need additional support and someone who is not our family or our friends to hold space for our story. If you are experiencing anxiety, depression, crisis, or just difficulty with your day to day tasks, I would be honored to walk with you through this moment in your life and help you to develop tools to help you navigate with more confidence and agency. I have spent my career working with teens, young adults and adults navigating life's unexpected and distressing moments.

My ideal clients are adults navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, psychosis, personality disorders, or self-injurious behavior — often after feeling dismissed or misunderstood elsewhere. Many are looking for a therapist who sees them as the expert on their own experience, not just a diagnosis. Bilingual clients (English/Spanish) also seek me out for culturally responsive care. As a Certified DBT Clinician and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I bring structured, evidence-based tools to help clients build emotional regulation and distress tolerance.

Each of us has a unique combination of innate strengths and, yes, weaknesses. Psychotherapy - or counseling -- is a process of regaining and leveraging our strengths, shoring up deficiencies and effectively managing the challenges in our lives. Our ability to learn is another important gift we all possess. Psychotherapy allows the client to either learn, re-learn or even unlearn thoughts and behaviors which, in turn, leads to emotional well-being. Our emotions are important signals, but they need not become emergencies themselves.

That being said, I primarily use CBT, DBT, and ERP.
Hi reader! I have some hypothetical questions for you: Are you sick of feeling stuck in the cycle of depression, anxiety, or OCD? Are you struggling with the aftermath of trauma or big life transitions? Do you have a child, teen, or young adult who is struggling? Would you like to be understood and supported by a passionate mental health professional? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, I might be the therapist for you!

I help clients get unstuck in anxious moments using my experience and training in Exposure and Response Prevention ( ERP) which addresses worry in many forms, including generalized anxiety, obsessions and compulsions, and specific phobias.
Worry is a shapeshifter! One day it looks like the fear of being judged by others or causing harm, getting sick or physically hurt; the next it is the fear of being less than perfect, or uncertain about the future. Worry can get tangled up with everyday stress, important events, with intrusive thoughts that feel upsetting or scary to have. Worry makes you feel trapped, in our routines, in indecision, in our own minds. Worry can get stuck on specific phobias, creating a cycle of obsessions and compulsions. Learning how to manage worry, wherever it pops up, can give us the tools to break free from fear and live the lives we want.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
