Sit back, take your shoes off and get as comfortable as you would like, that is the mantra I have for anyone who comes into my office. I have created a calming, welcoming space for people to feel they can share what they need to share, cry, laugh or yell. I love the aha moments people have or when they finally start to realize for themselves that they are going to be okay, might not be great but even okay is better than nothing. I love working with perinatal and postpartum clients especially those first time new mamas who are getting use to their new role. I would love to help you through your journey, good, bad or other.

Navigating life’s challenges can feel overwhelming—especially when you’re dealing with anxiety, relationship stress, or the weight of family expectations. Many of the women I work with grew up in emotionally complicated homes, learned to “be the strong one,” or were parentified at a young age. If you’re sorting through the effects of unhealthy boundaries, narcissistic parenting, or ongoing family dysfunction, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

If you are reading this, there’s a good chance you feel unknown. Your family and friends think highly of you, but you’re afraid that might be because you’ve fooled them. Deep down you feel like there is something wrong with you, and no amount of “doing the right thing” can change that. You’ve spent much of your life between procrastination and perfection, but nothing really calms the racing thoughts and anxiety. A lifetime of trying to fix what feels broken in your family has taken its toll. It’s actually been pretty tough—and there’s a lot of pain.

Do you feel like your needs are invisible to those around you? Do you question whether anyone truly loves you for who you are and not just for what you can do for them? What makes things worse is that you often prioritize helping others before meeting the very basic needs of your own. Sadly, this tends to go unnoticed by most. Well, it’s time to make you a priority for once. The most important life to save, nurture, and make stronger is yours. I am experienced, dedicated, and optimistic about helping you unlock the incredible possibilities that life has to offer.

Have you ever wondered if autism and or ADHD explains why you feel burned out and overwhelmed or socializing feels confusing? My neurodiversity-affirming evaluations give you answers. I am trauma-informed and I know that masking and being undiagnosed for years is painful and exhausting. I can help if you have gone to therapy and taken medication but previous labels missed something. I identify brain differences and strengths, not deficits and look at how your environment might be a mismatch and what to do about it. A diagnosis can allow you to give yourself grace. I never share any information with insurance/government databases.

A lot of the teens and adults I work with come in feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of who they’re becoming. They’re trying so hard, but something still doesn’t feel right — maybe they’re stuck in their head, disconnected from their emotions, or going through a big life change they didn’t ask for.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
